"What is the Most IDM Thing" Bracketology 2010

So the very first hints of pollen are in the air and your sinuses begin to lubricate. Spring is springing, March Madness has opened its delicate petals juuuuust ever-so-slightly, and it's time to do what everyone everywhere on the planet does every year at this time: Determine the MOST IDM THING!! Yes!! The games are right around the corner but first we must pluck the field of competitors from the breadth and depth of our collective minds.

It's the 4th annual "What is the Most IDM Thing" Tournament! In 2009 it was Antarctica and its vast icy glory! in 2008, Black Holes usurped the competition! 2007 grew a big nasty Beard!! What will be the last IDM thing standing in 2010, spending the rest of the year on its throne, endlessly surveying its conquered horizons and all of the minions in between? Only we can decide! Only we can argue! Only we will experience the drama. "The tension will be thick enough to dickslap!"

Here is the tournament schedule:

Week 1

Today and Tomorrow: Phase 1, Brainstorming

Saturday-Sunday: Phase 2, Voting on who makes the field (also determines tournament seeding)

Week 2

Monday: Opening round of competition. 64 teams will be competing.

Tuesday: Round 2 of competition. The winning 32 teams compete

Wednedsay: The winning 16 teams compete (Sweet Sixteen)

Thursday: 8 teams compete (Elite Eight)

Friday: Semifinals (Final 4)

Saturday - Monday: Championship Match.

The Most IDM Thing will be crowned on Tuesday, March 30th after the championship poll is closed

Remember, we're not talking about things directly instrumental in creating IDM, such as bandpass filters and fancy synthesizers mind you. An aphex twin CD is NOT an electronic music thing either, for our purposes. What we are talking about are things that inherently capture the essence of IDM on their own. Things that are things themselves.

Now it is time, my friends, to choose the field of competition for the 4th Annual What is the Most IDM Thing Bracketology. Suggest your picks and brainstorm away! We will put as many things mentioned in this thread as possible in the next poll to determine the top 64 teams.

I'd like to submit the following:

LargeHadronCollider, has already claimed a few lives by instilling fear and will possibly detect the Higgs boson which is a very IDM thing in and of itself.

Sleep deprivation, I experience this a lot and have to say that it goes with all kinds of incredibly IDM auditive and visual hallucinations and sometimes crazy kinesthetic shit happens like falling through the chair you're sitting in or becoming part of a table.

Leonid Rogozov, performed an appendectomy on himself while he was in Antarctica and meticulously recorded the event, here's a picture:
