Can't wait to hear this! But I can't get the fuckin server to respond. Let me know, someone, if you get a mirror link to the separate mp3s zip file.

is it me or do all people from chicago go ape shit for girl talk?

Seems like all people everywhere go ape shit for girl talk. I don't get it.

Saw him live at a block party a few years ago. Sure he brought the party, but whatever. It's just mash-ups. I guess I've gotten excited about a DJ before so I can't hate. It's just that he mixes a lot of stuff I don't care for.

his early records are really, really noisy and glitchy. they're amazing in a few spots and somewhat terrible in others. not much like the style he's developed on the past three, which if you think about it is still a very experimental style despite the catchiness.

when i'm in the mood for unbridled fun/excitement, girl talk is a go-to guy. alongside andrew wk...

I think his fans irk me more than anything. He's good, but he's idolized for doing shit 2 Many Dj's were masters at 7-8 years ago WITHOUT ableton. He's not a genius and his mashups/overall contribution to plunderphonics is minimal. Plus he was in this doc about copyright law and sampling called "RIP: A Remix Manifesto" that was really superficial and a bit misguided; that doesn't improve my opinion of him either. Most of the other artists on Illegal Art are far more talented and clever. He's mastered insanely packed hi energy mash-up mixes...that's all to be said.

I heard one of those older glitchy tracks on a local college station and was quite surprised it was him!
