Kangding Ray - Or

Peaking Lights - 936

Jenny Hval - Viscera

Laurel Halo - Hour Logic

A pretty solid year so far but only time will tell if it matches up to 2010. Got my fingers crossed really fucking hard for new BoC/Aphex before the year's end to really send this one over the top.

our tastemaker friends at bleep have come out with their own top 10 so far list:

http://bleep.com/index.php?page=dynamic&module=midyearroundup2011

Apparently you can get all 10 for 100 quid, that is if you can't be arsed to have your own musical tastes

Shit, that james blake album came out this year? Great, already looking forward to endless end-of-year lists spooging over this.

Just out of curiosity, is this list a best-of subset of all 2011 albums you've listened to so far? I'm not taking the piss or anything, rather I'm in awe of your ability to digest such a voluminous amount of music (this can be said for a lot of watmmers actually).

There's definitely others I haven't included. I've listened to all of these at least a few times. I spend just as much time listening to older things, but I do like to keep on top of recent releases. I'm always interested in new stuff that comes out, so I follow a handful of record labels and other sites. There's a lot of new music that I haven't bothered to check out.
