[cynical sod inside me]How many times was the dog beaten until it got it right[/cynical sod inside me]

The only incentive you need with dogs is food

How can we be sure the dog is not signaled on what key to push? Not saying this is fake, considering that dogs have superior hearing compared to humans so them having perfect pitch isn't that far-fetched.

It would be an impressive feat on the dogs part regardless considering that it would still need comprehension of specific parts of an complex object.

The amazing thing here wouldn't be the fact that the dog can recognize pitch but that it can recall what pitch each key has.

That dog probably thinks we are nuts.

this

That dog also demonstrated that he has a better ear than most people who try out for American Idol, X Factor, The Voice, etc.

maybe all dogs have perfect pitch, if that's the case then this wouldn't be any more different than training it to react to visual signals.

so dancing dogs are actually a more complex thing.

I dunno, if the person wasn't leaning towards the correct key like it looks like, I'd probably be impressed.

Also, maybe if it was one long take.

my thought exactly. I bet the dog is receiving some visual cue in terms of what key to hit. I could see an animal like a parrot having this ability, but dogs' communication in terms of sound isn't nearly as sophisticated.

Far more likely he just does the same notes in the same order, and the dog knows the order.
