Just a heads up that I've just spotted this...

http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b075qbty

For those unknowing, this will probably be 15 mins of some archive recording of an ae concert...but I'm struggling to think of what archive recording of an ae concert Auntie Beeb actually have.

Intriguing !

Anybody ?

(PS : When the Beeb remember they have this stuff, you often get a longer excerpt on the BBC 6Music Live Hour...so here's hoping !)

why do you think its an archive concert as opposed to what the blurb says "As many records as we can manage in three hours."??

Because that's the usual format of the show. Usually a mix of records, a few session tracks and a 10-15 minute slab of a live concert at about the 2 hour mark

Like in this one....http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b075bpbz

But what if it isn't! (Will anyone be recording this?)

Is anyone familiar with this program enough to state if it regularly features new music?

well it says "This programme will be available shortly after broadcast", so i guess it will be available shortly after broadcast.

I don't follow

directed at people seemingly concerned about a possible recording, probably because they won't be able to listen live (like myself).

"as many records as they can manage"... yeah, might as well put the new one in there :P ... srsly tho: in their case i could imagine some freaky mashup like in that xltronic broadcast from around untilted times.

Hang on, peeps.

I have just discovered this thing called Google and by the wonders of the modern information superhighway, I see that there was this broadcast in 2010.

http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b00w8kgy

which would have been about 30 mins (of ae at Meltdown 1998).

So I'm guessing that this is what it will be (but shorter).

...of which this be a fragment (

)

PS : Why did no one record this at the time ? :diablo:

This is recorded in full somewhere in the archives I think. I have it saved as Live in Vancouver. Great set.

Actually that one had been broadcast before - remember recording it along with some live plaid and broadcast from a John Peel show back in the day. That tape is long lost though so good to hear it again.

The dreamer in me thought it would be some complete Quaristice set but that was that (still) wicked Tialapia live version that i heard in similar form 777 times before on the 1998 Vancouver set. 13 min of 1998 AE_LIVE = still good but not what i was hoping...
