scorched earth boris. who knew? and wtf. scotland must be worried he'll suspend parliament up there as well. wtf. calculated move. is there going to be people in the streets protesting? general strike? anything? seems an ideal time to go all french about it and get in the streets and throw some shit. also, 'temporary' suspending parliament.. let's hope it's only temporary.

here's some stuff that won't matter i guess... trump received loans cosigned by russian billionaires. https://www.inquisitr.com/5603123/donald-trump-loans-russia/ deustche bank has his tax returns https://www.vice.com/en_us/article/ywav3x/deutsche-bank-basically-just-confirmed-they-have-trumps-tax-returns-that-should-make-him-nervous?utm_source=reddit.com. epstein's lawyers, like the rest of us, are skeptical of suicide ruling. https://www.cnbc.com/2019/08/27/jeffrey-epsteins-lawyers-skeptical-of-suicide-ruling.html he probably cares more about this picture than anything though.- 22,233 replies

coltrane can be pretty intense. he was on another level. in space. for similar "outside of genre" type stuff there's a few miles davis releases that fit the bill.. Big Fun, Panthallassa - the music of Miles Davis - bill laswell project that's one of my favorite things. it's all the stuff that happened in the studio around the "on the corner" recordings and in a silent way. he got ahold of the master recordings from capitol and put them back together in a way that, he says, is more representative of what happened in the studio. and of course it has the benefit of being mixed on more modern gear - neve console. it sounds great. anyway... here's a track from big fun that is deeper than deep once it bottoms out and gets spacious and here's panthallassa. i recommend tracking down the CD if you're into this kind of stuff. also, william fields played live recently and recorded it and posted it for DL on soundcloud.. i haven't listened to it yet. ?

yeah.. re: that screen grab of the Nance tweet - it's internet bullshit click bait but for a moment captures the hysteria in america.. it goes in every direction. i think that Nance guy is former CIA. i'm glad Macron is taking trump in the various 1 on 1 type meetings to develop some kind of relationship even if it just helps the G7 know where the fuck trump's brain is on some things. it helps to find a road map to those places that might be places of cooperation. ha.. what an ignorant thing to say on so many levels.. mother theresa was kind of an asshole btw.- 22,233 replies

How does the World view America these days?
ignatius replied to Rubin Farr's topic in General Banter
^^ it is fascinating indeed. the blinders.. totally.. but they say several times in there about god using imperfect vessels to do good works or whatever.. and they definitely mention trump in that regard. not disagreeing w/you.. but the imperfect vessel idea is something lot's of evangelicals use as an excuse... means to an end. -

^^ watched that already. it's a lot of what we probably think already plus a few jaw dropping WTF type things and just totally insane shit reminders. worth watching and i'm really glad they funded it. the "inside look" type of angle is good for this. these people are all the "imperfect vessel" cult who think trump is doing god's work and god uses imperfect vessels to do great deeds etc etc.. there's definitely a bunch of shit in there i didn't know was connected.. like the idiot governor and his affair cover up attempt and all that. some shitty people involved all the way through. -

koch funded a lot of the anti-climate change science.. big time deniers or at least perpetrators of that misinformation. they're both assholes. one fewer koch brother makes the world a little better... sometimes it's ok to say mean things about dead people. https://www.theonion.com/david-koch-pumps-billions-of-dollars-into-campaign-to-s-1837513455 https://www.commondreams.org/news/2019/08/23/after-life-incalculable-harm-billionaire-climate-denialist-and-right-wing-villain# also, trump gonna go hard on this line of bullshit.. just like his favorite dictator https://www.huffpost.com/entry/trump-economy-crash-message_n_5d601ef2e4b0dfcbd48cea0d- 22,233 replies

it can be annoying and frustrating at times.. especially when traveling.. but i'm often surprised when i ask about GF stuff and i get the GF menu brought out to me. there's also many 100% GF restaurants all over the world that make amazing food. apparently Italy has great GF restaurants. pretty much everywhere in the USA you can find something GF but road trips can be tough. i pack food and snacks. what's cool.. if you fly you can request a GF meal in advance.. usually when booking a flight. they need 24 hours in advance to get it. it's usually not bad. it's on par w/airplane food i guess. there's a lot of dumb stuff though. i've read that some breakfast chains put things in their eggs to make them fluffier.. shit like that. i always order over easy so i know i'm not getting scrambled eggs w/pancake batter added to them or something. i've heard that strip clubs are naturally gluten free.

celiac here. diagnosed around 8 years ago. was scoped and had a biopsy to confirm. the blood test can be inaccurate but if your symptoms line up then it's most likely correct. it's way easier to be GF today than it's ever been. many more options in the grocery store and when eating out.. but there's still lot's of explaining i have to do sometimes. it's more understood and more people in restaurants are aware of what celiac means but that doesn't mean they always get it right. i said good bye to beer long ago and gave up finding good beer that is truly GF. much of it is gluten removed which isn't the same thing as gluten free.. even though it's sold in stores as gluten free. i stick to wine and cider when i have a drink. there's a lot of things you don't expect to have wheat in the ingredients list. i read everything even when it says gluten free. vinegar that isn't distilled has gluten somehow. lot's of sauces and stuff are not GF. i just try to stick to meat and veggies and once in a while make some GF pancakes or get a GF pizza (there's good GF pizza in portland) and lot's of resaurants will make GF versions of things. i can ramble about this stuff but if you have any questions ask away. i'll do my best. also there's a subreddit r/celiac which can be useful. https://www.reddit.com/r/Celiac/
