  1. Still slogging my way through the simpsons. Season 30 now. Gonna continue to the end, purely only on principle at this point. PLEASE stop guys!
  2. Don't bring that shit in here, this is the ae forum
  3. I agree But yeah I suspect everyone is feeling this shit on some level (it was referring to BobDobalina's post above mine), the constant unease etc, because how could you not? We're constantly inundated with news of how the world is falling apart in countless ways, and all around us is evidence of it, shit's falling apart... Even the most bluepilled of them all must still be aware of it. People find ways to not care, to yolo their way through it or whatever, distract themselves with work and entertainment. Or as you said, seek what meaning there is in life even if it's just the appreciation of beauty and the moment. And caring for each other. That's all good stuff and that is indeed what gets us through. Spirituality helps too. Doesn't change the fact that the world is the way it is and it's always there in our minds, more so than ever now with constant newsfeeds etc. Our brains are not designed to be aware of this much shit and they're short-circuiting.
  4. That's very strange, something just made me think of The Road just yesterday. More specifically I was thinking about the time in my life when I read it. I think of the story/setting a lot. It's probably the most deeply unsettling book I've ever read. And I remember choosing to read it during a time when life was good, because I'd been warned how disturbing it would be. It was a good idea and I did enjoy it. Well "enjoy" isn't really the right word for a book like that. But it was a good read. And otherwise it probably would have really messed me up if I read it when I'm unwell. It has certainly made an impact in my mind. Haven't seen the movie, and haven't read any of his other books. I started No Country for Old Men at one point but couldn't get into it. He's generally not an easy read. A few years ago a friend of mine, a writer and huge Cormac McCarthy fan, actually had access to his archives, notes and all that kind of stuff. Can't remember how that came about but he was pretty thrilled. Anyway maybe I'll pick up No Country again, I still have it. RIP.
  5. Does everyone feel this way? Isn't it simply a fact of living in a world that's essentially doomed, that we are all living an existential nightmare? How does anyone cultivate hope anymore? What's the fuckin point?
  6. Highly relatable (only on one now but tried plenty to get here)
  7. I fell in love with EP7 immediately because my first ae love was LP5. This all happened between 1999-2001. In between having LP5 and EP7 I picked up Tri Rep(++) - loved that one too, but it was clear their "new sound" was the best, and so when I got EP7 it was exactly what I wanted to hear. (I picked up confield later in 2001 and felt the same way.) EP7 to me was always an advancement of the LP5 sound, don't ask me how because who knows when tracks were acktchyually made, or how they do things (different methods for different tracks it seems). So "advancement" is subjective I guess. But man those tracks were fresh as fuck and I ate it up. Also, I think it's one of their best track sequences - there's good variety in a cohesive flow and it tells a story. Pir is one of the most beautiful tracks they've done. (Also: corc has always been my "official" favourite ae track, so watch what u say about Corc 'round these parts ya hear!)
  8. EP7 is a masterpiece.
  9. DJ Organic Mayonnaise DJ Oatmilk Latte DJ Sprouted Quinoa DJ Lactofermented Probiotic Sauerkraut DJ Adaptogenic Mushroom Kombucha
  10. DJ Margerine-Style Spread
  11. I don't understand the question. Post some of your music if you actually want my opinion (You probably don't)
  12. Lol Yeah the search function is not very helpful for this kind of thing. Don't mind me, the only reason I noticed this in particular is because I think the video is unfunny/stupid/cringe, and so I'm always surprised to see it reappear and people actually enjoy it ?? Doesnt anyone remember jazzband?
  13. In at least 3 other places on the site so far yeah
