  1. for anyone who needs a reminder of how shit this dude was: https://theintercept.com/2018/12/05/george-h-w-bush-1924-2018-american-war-criminal/?campaign=homepage-podcast-intercepted
  2. my brother is in anchorage right now and i woke up to like 80 text messages. also my house was shaking all the way up in fairbanks!
  3. holy shit foxnews is the most cancerous website i have tried to open up on my phone. instantly popups everywhere and ao much garbo formatting i couldnt even load the page
  4. he definitely stumbled on a lot of points, especially the peak fossil fuels stuff. but my point is that the ideal political situation in which large-scale adaptation and cooperation to address the issues that many countries are already facing is not exactly happening right now. i know there is improvement in many countries but currently we're seeing reactionary politics spread everywhere and i don't see that as a trend that is going to die without a fight. to say that the planet will 'cope' is quite idealistic. then again, you never fail to impress me with your optimism, lol
  5. i had an epiphany moment when i first watched that video squee made for babylon. before that i didn't really understand what i was listening to. after watching squee's video i was like, oh my god, this is a country ballad. ever since i have loved it. and i really like sandy alex. g's treatment of it. very lush.
  6. I'm sure that all of the rational governments in the world will make good choices to remedy the problems mentioned in that video. You know, like the big countries with vast amounts of wealth and resources. Totally gonna do that.
  7. just revisited this and i had completely forgotten how lovely that chord progression in the middle part is.
  8. +1 on the Sakamoto vibes. My favorite of these new ones. the wiggly guitar solo even sounds like kazumi watanabe on thousand knives this is another example of very obvious homage and in a way it kind of makes me question whether i truly enjoy what i'm listening to. i listen and think of the songs and artists and aesthetics he's bringing together and not really experiencing the track as a thing of its own.
  9. sometimes i can't tell whether opn is being obvious about his references on purpose or he is just permanently in pastiche mode. 0:45 in lexapro. similar slowly panning muted drums and monophonic melody
  10. hang in there fellow alaskan fuck you talking about ears are awesome. you should cut off your ears and suffer the deafness and lack of sick beats and lush pads as punishment for your impudence.
