  1. ha wow so this is gonna be...what, $20k? sound clip on the Korg page is pretty amazing tho, will give it that. edit: according to the SonicState article it's about $13k. worth clicking through there for a short video clip of the original.
  2. long single-take drifting track from last year.
  3. gotta be an E or a B at the end tho
  4. for all of TE's striving for aesthetics, you'd think part of that quest would be quality materials & builds. i've never owned anything of theirs but QC issues have plagued basically everything they've touched from what i've read. that's not too surprising for something like the Pocket Operators for sizing/pricing...yeah, those aren't going to last forever. but there's really no excuse for most of their products given the prices.
  5. 1 year anniversary bump w/ lovely promo art from @oscillik
  6. i’m going to be buying the new Korg opsix module. increased polyphony, perfect form factor, i’m ready for some deep hardware FM playtimes.
  7. weird for regular humans, normal for politicians. it's as surprising as hearing they said one thing on the campaign trail which they abandoned immediately upon election. we're only a few years away from the actual patriarchal rhetoric from the right to become more mainstreamed, if they keep their tenuous grip on some powers a bit longer. of course he's an asshat, for sure. but when he's paying more attention to the trends and facts than lots of the left/center who are wasting time coming up with cute clapbacks to RT on Twitter, well that's part of how we get where we are right now, with Trump looking to have a real shot at getting reelected.
  8. Gaetz is about right tho: https://www.vox.com/2024-elections/23982907/trump-democrats-republicans-working-class-voters-latino-black-voters
  9. music journalism is hard, and since the inception of Pitchfork the idea of ‘new music reviews’ have been a dying endeavor. props to anyone still pursuing it, and to anyone still reading/watching it tho. there’s a place for curation of new music that would otherwise go unnoticed, but who needs a review of the new Coldplay album? just listen to it instantly on any damned site. hopefully there’s more of a trend towards hunting + spotlighting the unknown/unheard and less ‘cutesy bald glasses-wearing white guy listens to a popular album (which you’ve already heard) two maybe three times then declares its place in history’ which Pfork always came across as, true or not. or maybe we’ll get RDJ on the cover of GQ
  10. embrace the lofi-ness of the rips my friends. it adds to the Buriality of the choonz.
  11. luxury sonician here interested in this aPpealing developMent
  12. yes and yes Jodie Foster is great but the other one that played detective Navarro is starting out well too. but at this point i'm not worried about the actors, i'm worried about the story and the direction...
  13. yeah same here too. elements are there but the tone felt off in a lot of ways & the episode felt hella info-dumpy (probably had 2 or 3 episodes of material crammed into it). was leaning hard on the 'oh lookit all the drama we're setting up!' & too many wannabe horror vibes. the CGI was pretty shit too. i'll see how the next few episodes play out, i signed up for a month so
  14. so i still stand by this assessment but these tracks are actually pretty damned good. interesting and not too much stupid Burial stop start shit, felt pretty reasonable/meaningful when done, and the variety within each track despite both being uptempo beats & dance type vibes was all a plus. might be the first Burial i actually purchase (assuming they release digitals, i have no desire to buy vinyl)
  15. i never tried S2 but i loved S3, it took some time to get where it was going but i enjoyed it once i gathered where it was heading and enjoyed the trip. danke
  16. it's basically just this https://www.videodoubler.com/combo/saved/d566f809-9039-4768-b589-67f942cfa80c
  17. it does! and at a strong price, for the right person this looks like a great thing. kinda doing what OP-Z wanted to do with the graphical aspect. this is made for hobbyists/starters wanting to make some fun shit for Instagram which is cool imo. make music just for the fun of it. there's a fair bit of stuff going towards these couchbeats crowds (Polyend Tracker & Play, Novation Circuit, Elektron Models, etc.) and that's good. this one having the AWM/FM engines is interesting as well. i believe you can even load in your own samples for the drum stuff which really opens this up.
  18. small printed posters + staples, plus the postage to send a few copies to trusted folks around the EU? XL didn't exactly break the bank on the promo campaign here. social media/blind Burial hype does all the work
  19. your reminder that the average young American (these are almost certainly all college kids, btw. they're 'smart' enough and old enough to have been enrolled in a college) is beyond ignorant of the world'a place in the universe. this is one of the cringiest Veritasium videos (and that's saying something) but nonetheless felt worth sharing for just how fucking wild this was to see. really hard to fathom millions, billions of people walking around their whole lives with just no idea that our own moon is smaller than a star, or think 'yeah, the sun is probably like idk 8 times bigger than Earth?'
  20. ^love that episode. the mention of the 'you tipped your hand with that letter just to how much we were surveilling him' is relatively true as well. the end of this final speech is the bit they use for the show. "it really doesn't matter what happens now..." that last speech from him is pretty haunting, at least that last portion of it queued up there. he really seemed to be expecting to die soon.
  21. source of the vocals there is apparently Paul Morton, a Baptist preacher Eno/Byrne sampled
  22. hot damn that's a good deal. i imagine the knob could be fixed by Elektron themselves if nothing else.
