Ceephax (Acid Crew) Subforum!?

Ceephax subforum stat!

I mean the sub forums currently serve no purpose other than erousing masonic boom 24/7 , I would hope Watmm as a collective could agree that the creation of a ceephax subforum would only help generate more enthusiasm surrounding this tour and get Andy to play in more cities. In general he'll probably get more ticket sales. The better this tour goes the more chance we'll get another US tour, and perhaps Andy's success would entice other watmm favorites to come to the states as well. If watmm is going to serve any purpose, it might as well be bringing top musicians to our own cities so we can share the excitement and enthusiasm the europeans get to express all year round! God damn EU!

Rex has always been firm on this front. It's allegedly part of the WATMM ethic of keeping 1990's "IDM" tradition alive. But that's the thing about tradition--it's bound to lose meaning and context e.g. Mike Paradinas will likely never release another second of his own music; Planet Mu is his life, soul, bread and butter and unless it's more "Measty" out takes, mark my words: no. new. Mu-Ziq. ever. So, the Mu-Ziq subforum is rendered mostly useless because...he doesn't make music anymore! :cisfor:

However, getting into this subforum pluralism, where does it stop? Venetian Snares, Chris Clark, Ceephax Acid Crew, + on + on have been proposed but it's the proverbial "let one in, let 'em all in" and chaos ensues.

Now, don't get me wrong, no one would be more hopeful for a Ceephax subforum as he is prolific, silly, and genius enough to warrant his own corner. It's just that calls for subforums fall flat every 10 seconds so.... :trashbear:

Hell Joy, since I already know your answers, you should just sticky this response :emotawesomepm9:

How does quantity of subforums negatively affect the forum in general. I could see 20+ subforums as too much, but adding even 5 more would be fine and I don't get why this is such a big deal. The subforums are mostly (all) bullshit

the discussion about new sub forums goes on and on and the same thing happens. Don't see the point in trying. The music forum was a good compromise. Why not leave it at that?

See this is what I think people aren't fully grasping. Yes there aren't a ton of abundant ceephax threads, but who in the hell is going to start creating an abundant amount of threads for any artist? They'd look like an absolute psycho fanboy. However I bet theres a ton of song appreciation/album threads that would be created if a sub-forum existed. Giving an appreciated active artist like Ceephax a space of collected appreciation/questions would not only strengthen the activity of watmmers but it would legitimize watmm as a career building community that has influence to bring tour revenues and increase the scope of the tour in general. Sure if he was planning to come to your town anyway, it doesn't matter to you, but think about how much it would suck to be so far away from a stop that you simply couldn't go. Ceephax tour that stretches across America and you miss out.

I appreciate your sentiment for sure. But you have a "start date" of 2008--surely you've been around long enough to see Joyrex's response to these things. We are not in a democracy here at WATMM. At best, it could be considered a benevolent dictatorship :emotawesomepm9:

As long as he listens I'll speak haha... it may be frugal but what... it takes 3 minutes to type up some words. worth a shot

I'm getting really bored of these subforum petition threads now.

if they made a subforum for begging for subforms we all could get on with our lives
