Although not a remix, don't forget the influence BoC had on The Sexual Objects track Here Come The Rubber Cops, which they produced. If you haven't heard it, try, it's very good (to these ears), and full of BoCisms near the end.

Rumours were they were producing a full album for them, which presumably nothing came of.

Which of their remixes are good?

By that, I mean, I know the Michael Fakisch remix is great. Most of the others I dont know. Are they just all great? any of them stand out ?

I'm rediscovering BOC after years of neglect.

Michael Fakesch - Surfaise : Hi Scores like BoC, cool tune

Mira Calix - Sandsings : heavy beat, good but not their best

Bubbah's Tum - Dirty Great Mable : Hip Hop & chopped vocals. cool. uses the 'do you breath' sample from Olson V3. but not chopped as much

Meat Beat Manifesto - Prime Audio Soup : a long deep hip hop like loop with revolving textures, can be fun

Slag Boom Van Loon - Poppy Seed : this came out between Beautiful Place & Geogaddi & bridges that gap, awesome drums & textures brings me back in time, Sonys on my head

Slag Boom Van Loon - Poppy Seed (reprise) : the best way to end the album.. totally beatless, classic BoC

Boom Bip - Last Walk Around Mirror Lake : awesome ep, with the cloudead remix too. washing machine & acoustic guitars. clear & uncluttered. awesome.

Clouddead - Dead Dogs Two : this is good, but I prefer their vocal-less songs best. somewhat ambitious, but not from their best time period imo.

Beck - Broken Drum : good tune. Beck's vocals are a little depressing but BoC do a good job creating an atmosphere.

Why? - Good Friday i don't know man, if I want Why? I guess its a good tune, but if I want boards I don't want to hear Why so loud in the mix. again, i prefer their mixes without vocals

Good summary; I pretty much agree on all points!

Maybe old news to some, but I just found out that a deluxe reissue of Michael Fakesch's Marion came out last year and "Surfaise (The Trade Winds Mix)" is included. I got the 16/44.1 download file from Bleep, and the track runs quite a bit slower than the vinyl rip from Demon.1 that's floating around out there — it's almost 40 seconds longer.
