Funny 4th of July Story

Guest Dr of Quantization

So my question today is how far have we come as a species? I pose this question due to my experience last night. I went with a friend to get burritos last night about 9pm and as I was sitting at an empty restaurant waiting while my friend went out for a smoke. I was peering outside at all the bright lights and sparks coming from the fireworks when a tray of food was placed in front of me. I turned around and noticed it was not my order nor did I know the gentleman placing the food in front of me. Next he came back with his drink and utensils and placed them right in front of me. My friend was back by this time and I looked at him like who that hell is this guy and what the hell is going on and he looked back and me and laughed. So I backed up my chair and got up pushing it under the table. As soon as I did that the gentleman that placed his food in front of me pulled the chair I just pushed under the table out and sat down and proceed to stare at me. I walked around for a bit and noticed that a restaurant of about 50 seats were vacant. So I surmised that this guy was trying to intimidate me yet he did not say a word to me.

This guy came in to establish his alpha male dominance at a burrito place at 9pm?

Seriously? So what now prison rules if people see fit. I guess it is the same as the monkeys on tv today, so it all makes sense. We have evolved into human beings that can solve complex problems, articulate our thoughts and actions through words and still we feel the need to resort to “old brain” sub primal actions. I shake my head in bewilderment.

nice. lol

yeah, if you were the only ones there then id say you did the right thing. for all you know that guy probably would have shanked you if you didn't move. like you say, who would do that in a vacant store. a crazy guy. or he was just being a douche bag cause he thought it was funny. if it were me, when i got my food i would have placed my tray right on top of his food and waited till he moved. lol

you should have just started eating his food, with a thankful expression on your face

but for all you know he could have slipped you a mickey and you'd wake up the next day, ass ablaze!

Cool (weird) story.

I probably wouldn't have moved, just leant back in the chair. Maybe pushed the tray of food to the other side.

But yeah, the guy was clearly a mentalist and he presumably wanted to get into a fight.

In fact, you've got ask yourself why you were in an empty restaurant with a mentalist on July 4th anyway. Nutters love company.

I thought this thread would be about the San Diego fireworks show last night.

Did you guys hear about it?

Holy lol.

They were supposed to haveone of the biggest fireworks show in the nation. It was planned to last 18 minutes, but there was a technical mishap and all of the fireworks went off at once.

My theory is that it's like the guy last night who was walking down the street by my house in the middle of the night and just decided to slam his wine bottle in the middle of the road and leave it there as he walked away. Boredom and apathy can cause a lot of shit. Recycle pickup was this morning so there were at least a couple of dozen recycle bins by the curb that he could have placed his bottle in, but no.

2 years ago on the 4th, I passed a speeding pickup on the highway (nighttime) with a flaming grill in the back, and a guy trying to hold on, flip his meat and drink a beer without falling overboard. But this is Texas so that's normal.

Was it an employee on break? He might have been angry that you were holding him up because he wanted to close up the restaurant and spend the holiday evening with his family. Since you came in and ordered something, perhaps he wanted to intimidate you and perhaps provoke you into a fight. I worked in a restaurant full-time for many years (payed for all of my undergrad tuition and some grad school that way), and I've seen all types on staff, some of which certainly would have done something like that if they were resentful enough toward you.

Maybe your friend outside slipped into a vortex and he was the guy.

I know for a fact that this can happen.

Or maybe he was just trying to hit on you?
