interesting list of "the top 100 best british songs of all time" that celebrate "british icons and the spine of our great musical heritage".

how bizarre that the country has no all female bands that can have any music that qualifies as the top 100 best british songs of all time, perhaps some bands with more diverse group members, or maybe radio x listeners just don't listen to anything but oasis and bowie?

Yeah lets just leave out one of the most influential tracks ever created, Black Sabbath by Black Sabbath. Fucking fools lol.

Even all these years later the indie crowd still can't quite grasp the greatness of Sabbath.

Oasis or Blur? Beatles or Stones? Arctic Monkeys or The Stone Roses? The Smiths or Muse? They're all British icons and the spine of our great musical heritage, but which act is the best and who has released the best song?

Radio X asked YOU to decide. You voted in your tens of thousands and we can now reveal the Top 100 Best British Songs Of All Time.

The Smiths, Muse & specifically Suede should all be killed, only mention the latter for the sheer psychological horror of their atrocities, in fact Oasis can get in line but fuck with them a bit too first

imagine this but with a Gallagher face n Manc-muso hair-did

Morrissey's quiff should be raised up on a spike as a lesson in yeah you're fuckin miserable now, cos

Dunno Suedes Dogman Star is a pretty great album imo and one of the best of that era

Verves Urban Hymns has killer album tracks tucked away which eclipse the singles

I like a lot of these tunes on the list tbh, but the whole concept is obviously bullshit

to be fair its not up against a whole lot these days

one of the horrors of Tescos after dark is the shit on Real Radio the night staff & public are forced to endure, monstrous crimes of guff, unimaginably bad

due to your dedication to metal and the craft of beer, we could agree to disagree, but they'd still be on the kill-list

You've gotta remember that Radio X (formerly XFM) has always prided itself on being an "alternative" radio station so all they play is Muse, the Stone Roses, Blur, Oasis and the like, so Radio X listeners I'm sure listen only to Britpop.
