I have Wings of Desire on VHS and I just picked up the Criterion Blu Ray. It looks great, but I have to say that I actually prefer the VHS version visually. I like having the original audio on the Blu Ray, but this movie just looks a lot better to me with the details a little blurry. I'm glad Blu Ray is not likely to supplant DVD any time soon, because I think there are a lot of movies that just look bad with too much fidelity. One early scene when they are in the BMW dealership is a good example. In the Blu ray, it looks like it was filmed last week. On VHS, the movie seems like something shot in the 40s or 50s... One interesting thing that I wouldn't have known…

a while ago i asked about video editing software for PC that was not as bloated as premiere. sony vegas was recommended, and it's better.... but, it still pisses me off. i reverse a bit of video, it can't even play it back live. i got 4 fuckin CPU cores, 2 gigs of ram, a good graphics card, and it can't do a crappy live preview. am i missing something? i want multitrack drag 'n' drop editing with the ability to reverse and speed shift clips. video fx a bonus. seriously... why is this so hard?

i can't believe this is happening. he was out on my watch and he strayed down the driveway and got hit by a car. i heard a honk and went running down the driveway and saw him lying in the middle of the road. he was covered in blood and looked horrible, i cant get the image out of my mind. he was so small. there was no car in sight. hit and run. i threw my jacket over him and picked him up like a baby and then cried/screamed in the middle of the street. why is this happening? he was so small he was going to turn two on december 1st. he wasn't even two. he was the best dog. why i am losing everything R.I.P.

It's only been on for the first night so far, but this may he the best thing on television this year. Not the biggest fan of Jim Jesus as an actor, but McKellen may be the finest actor living today. Never thought they could bring anything fresh to the original, but the dryness of the writng and the set design are amazing. Like being trapped forever in Ikea and forced to shop at The Gap for eternity. Can't wait to see how the series plays out, hopefully they don't change the classic ending too much, but I'm having a blast guessing how it will get there.

Just saw this today on my lunch break while checking the WWE updates. Freddy Krueger has been telling people that he will be hosting Raw, then Jericho was on twitter saying his tag team partner at Smackdown will be "Evil", fuelling speculation that the two of them are going to collaborate. This could the hottest collaboration since Luke Vibert & BJ Cole if it's true! Just need to wait and see i guess.
