Augmatic disport live twistage 2005 - 2007
by Guest burnibus- 5 replies

Ey up guys, the recent thread about ipacial made me think about the different bits from untilted that are featured throughout their live sets. Quite a few in different guises one of my favourites is that wicked housey bassy beat at the end of augmatic disport. im sure you know the one. Its about 15 maybe 20 mins into the hemsby set and has the same wicked 4/4 grove going on and fizzy hats and loads of beautiful pads building around it. The live version is one of my favourite ae moments, it gets me everytime.

VI Scose Poise- I see old fashioned robots, like steam powered, with everything tinted in sepia. Nine- A Hotel on a pile of trash, facing an ocean Eidetic Casein- a car commercial Lentic Catachresis- A Bunch of dead and destroyed robots littered around, trying to talk to each other but they just spark. Ipacial Section- A hyper person going crazy and creating a big machine

My personal favorite track ever made by Autechre has to be Lentic Catachresis, the last track from Confield. I love it so much! It is insanely abstract and the last 5 minutes of messy nonsense glitchy rush are totally awesome and the background melody makes this beautiful! That track revolutionized their way to making music, in my opinion.

For the people who own the cd 'Garbage'. Were there two releases of Garbage? I just got the non-colored cd version and at discogs there is a black colored cd version shown. I just want to know if I got a bootleg. Thanks.

mad respect for this track... so soothing and creamy. the little ticky noise that comes in at 2:30 nudges you awake and rearranges things... the high-pitched bendy accents in the background... waves passing over... such nice synth noises.

I was wearing my Gantz Graf t-shirt on the subway yesterday and some dude came up to me and told me he had just moved to NYC and was a big fan of Autechre and wanted to know more about the scene in NYC. Told him I had met Machine Drum the week before and he got all pumped and was asking more about teh local IDMz. Nice to meet a fellow fan randomly, our numbers are growing...

so the ae albums have a naming convention that notes which album it is. incunabula = first (in book terms or something like that) amber=second light on the traffic lights tri repetae= three chastic slide = http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chiastic , related to 4 LP5 draft 7.30 = 7th album untilted= 8 letters, but might be a coinkydink so where does confield stand?

So, does the shift in the middle of this track make it devastating and epic, or an example of Ae fucking up a beautiful ambient track with bleepy farts?

Listening to Sparkle Motion's 2001 mix the other day which contains the lovely track VI Scose Poise. I framed the question negatively: "You don't like this kind of music very much do you?" She replied that it was ok, and that I can crank that style of music whenever i want to without having to worry about giving her a headache (I've played it before when she's around, just not at the levels that AE needs to be appreciated.) Excellente. Oh Fiona from WARPCOMM, that you could see this post.
