  1. Finally listening now, a week late. And yeah, I'm feeling this one alright. Enjoying the electro and glitch flavors this one has. The album artwork is super silly but the music inside is nice and fresh. No disrespects to Daft Punk, Mr. Oizo and the like but I think Berite has proven to be a more vital French contribution to the global dancefloor than "the French touch". C'est franchement trop lourd! Je me kiffe
  2. Here's something exciting for y'all. Footwork drawing influence from 2-Step garage, R&B, and Japanese ambient. Sounds really great and has massive amounts of bass for the dancefloor, too. Can't miss this one! Whoa. Tracklisting: 1. Lift Gate (2:52) 2. Stay (3:38) 3. Get @ Me (3:18) 4. Air Ride (2:51) 5. Kisoko (2:50) 6. Mkwa (3:44)
  3. https://djfucci.bandcamp.com/album/fauna Don't sleep on these banging hard drum tracks coming out of Mexico. Contemporary rave club vibes with a Latin twist RIYL: DJ Plead, Sudanim, Yak, Annunaku, anything on Nervous Horizon and Even the Strong, Berite club vibes, or even just having a good time appreciating new vibes less widely heard Tracklisting: 1. Culebra (4:44) 2. Chango (4:50) 3. Sapo (4:23) 4. Chinchilla (3:45)
  4. Pandit Nikhil Banerjee - Afternoon Ragas Jack Rose - Opium Musick and Raag Manifestos
  5. Orphx deserve so much more love. Seen them live I think twice? Once opening for Paula Temple and once for Adam X? tbh they're everything you want in a contemporary industrial musical act; to wit, they do the sound art side of things (as above in the OP), they do layered abstract sonically rich soundscapes, they do the live technofied thing, they don't flirt with fascist imagery. Semi-local (they're from the Golden Horseshoe, so local enough) musical heroes to be sure. They're also going to be accompanying Front 242 on the latter's upcoming spring tour.
  6. I'm still unfamiliar with Arthur Jeffes' music -- been a fan of his dad's for more than a decade, where do you recommend starting?
  7. In the classical sense, of psychedelic chill out room music, certainly. But Confield feels more genuinely alien
  8. Upon revisiting, I like this album a ton more now. Now that I know more about music and appreciate non-IDM techno more, I "get" Tri Repetae a whole heck of a lot better. I may still prefer their works from Confield on but this album has aged rather well, it must be said.
  9. Although I enjoy it from start to finish, I wish it all banged as hard as the opening few phrases of Yeesland
  10. Five days ago, Chiastic Slide turned 25, Envane did so in the end of January. And in five more days from today, Cichlisuite will have its half birthday (i.e. six months from then, it will turn 25). Giving this one a spin right now and I gotta say, this EP is to this day fucking excellent. The only thing which "holds it back", which I don't think is necessarily a fair criticism, is that some of the synth patches show their age. Otherwise, structurally it still works a charm. The melodies, the rhythms, the drum machine hits are all wonderful. Autechre at their most techno, just about.

Lovely photograph and now you've inspired me to listen to the Oslo set, too. But now I'm wondering about which sets I from onesix and AE_LIVE I haven't heard yet.
  12. Loving this. Wow! Too bad it's not a full length, hopefully he puts one out before too long (maybe later in the year?) This is really really nice.
  13. Went to high school with Chris and seeing him making a name for himself has been great. Getting songs played by Aphex Twin, signing to Dekmantel, proud of the guy! Can totally imagine him putting something out on Ilian Tape with this sound, too. He's come along way since his (not shabby at all) days of FL. This shit goes fucking hard!
  14. I still need to watch his films, but this is some insightful and well said stuff. I still haven't really brought myself to get super into film as an art form as much as I might like, it's not as easy for me, though not for lack of interest. It just demands a lot more focus and attention and time to dwell on. This theoretical side is very cool stuff to read and ponder.
  15. Happy birthday to my favourite slice of Sandisonia! Twenty years, eh? This album is one of the most cohesive albums I've ever heard and one which lead to an important broadening of my musical tastes and therefore changing my life. There may be other songs of BoC's I love which don't appear on this album but dang, this album is the definition of a unified listening experience. Thank you very much Michael and Marcus for this exquisite release.
  16. I like GYBE a bunch. The newly leaked demo which many of us fans were curious about for years and years, was unsurprisingly, not great. Had a few interesting moments which came and went too quickly

Autechre, Nidia, Deena Abdelwahed, Jeff Mills, DJ Stingray, Oscar Mulero, Blawan, Lightning Bolt, Aurora Halal, Evian Christ, Caribou... sounds like I'd have a good time though there's no way I'd even think about going (overseas plus festival, sounds expensive and hectic)
