i thought that white noise album was called an electric storm or is this another record i need to get

it is, but I forgot that at the time i made that post, :-[

have you heard any of the later white noise records

i always assumed they would be crap and massive letdowns

i just looked on discogs and i suppose white noise 2 & 3 could be quite interesting

maybe it makes me nostalgic for a time (15 yrs ago) when there wasnt a billion shitty "electronic music" producers and you had to wait for a record to come out and buy it in order to hear it

This makes me nostalgic about music full-stop

me too. but i was specifically referring to the golden age of electronic musics / rephlex / etc there

hmmmmmm..... i got away with posting IDM in the original post but your quote has been filtered

white noise 2 has a couple good moments, but is no where near as good as an electric strom. It kind of reminds me of wendy carlos,, but a bit more spaced out. It's worth checking out, but don't expect anything amazing. white noise 3 had a couple cool synth bits, but overall was boring. They've also put out white noise 4 and 5, but I never bothered to check them out.

i have the audio as an mp3, never fully listened to it. Supersilent make really dense albums. I've only really digested 5 and 6, just starting to get into 8.

Isotope 217 - Utonian Automatic

Such a great band, everything they have released is pure gold, and super nice guys to boot...pretty much same line-up as Tortoise but with a more bebop thing going on...love it!

brian eno - taking tiger mountain (by strategy)/here come the warm jets/another green world

don't ask me to pick one of those. always and forever in my top 5.

this heat - this heat/deceit

lost gem of a post-punk band from the late 70s/early 80s. they did crazy shit with looping and mixing desks and early sampling techniques, and their music reeks of cold war dread. also their recording studio was a converted meat locker which they called cold storage.

What about 'Before and After Science'? I love those four Eno rock lp's so much it hurts some times...

This Heat is one the greatest bands ever and I hope someday more people realize this....

Tobacco-01-wide.jpg

So fucking good, like ear sugar it is!

Yeasayer - All Hour Cymbals

Great Fucking Record!!!

mine as of now would be:

Yvat - Tear Duct

Gary Numan - The Pleasure Principle

VU & Nico

Animal Collective - Merriweather Post Pavillion

Geiom - Island Noise

casino versus japan - whole numbers play the basics

freescha - freeschaland

u-ziq - tango n vectif

polygon window - surfing on sinewaves

808 state - 90

Hey man, nice to see you in here....

Nice records as well!

Hope all is well for you!

B&AS is kinda half ambient/half rock. but it is also peerless.
