Paul's Boutique

Yeah, so finally grabbed this little gem - sounds absolutely great, with the sort of punch you always wanted the album to have but it never quite did.

Bass comes through nice and thick and everything just sounds like, well, the production fidelity most everything including/post Check Your Head.

Had a lotta love for this back in the day, really nice to hear a well done remastering job . . . unlike the "re-release" Radiohead albums which aren't even remastered. wtf?

Check it out, hot shit, hot shit

Yeah - I mean, I love the album but it just felt like something wasn't quite "all there." Like listening to an album in 128 kbps. Now there's that full depth and definition - totally worth it if you are at all a fan (incidentally, also a sign of how absolutely ahead of their time the Beastie's were)

Damn's that pretty cool - I checked out the reviews and it sounds like this is one of the better books in the series . . . thanks for the tip man-tek-"nine"-a

I've read this book in it's entirety and it really is fascinating. The last half of the book chronicles where all the samples come from. Great read, made me love the album even more. So ahead of their time.

i havent heard the remaster, but i always thought the original was mastered way too low

I've got the original on vinyl and it's easily one of the worst sounding records I have, and no amount of eq'ing can prevent it from being painfully obvious in the context of a set

Just downloaded this from soulseek and listening to it (already bought the album twice, not about to buy it again) - pretty impressive the samples/lyrics that you can actually hear now - like the call outs to all the girls on the first track and the pingpong at the beginning of 3-minute rule
