My Autechre Video

Overand

Recommended Posts

I posted this over in general banter's artwork thread but figure I'd best get an opinion from the specialists.

I really don't recommend watching this if you or anyone in the room is epileptic. Otherwise, enjoy.

it doesn't really go anywhere

I guess I should have prefaced it with saying it's meant as an installation more than a music video. Namely, projected in much higher resolution in a dark room. It's a different experience when it takes up your whole field of vision. I will, however, apologize for the kind of shitty compression.

Also, to the clit doctor, if you think this is dull, wait until you see the statue I'm making to accompany Perlence Subrange 6-36.

Your music video for the Echospace song was way better, in my opinion.

It is a huge cock. It's 58.36 inches long.

I love it. As others said it could use more spice/variety. However I really like the subtle progression, from the blistering assault of opening flashes versus more separated, deliberate lighting as the track slows down. Emphasizing this shift even more would make it better

Yeah, it doesn't work as a music video so much but I think it would be pretty cool as an installation.... perhaps you could take the four walls of a room and project a video on to each, all modelled on the first one as posted?

holy shit now I'm thinking of 4 wall panoramic ae installation visualization.

I'm creaming my pants just thinking about it.

With that in mind this could be heading in a pretty cool direction although I still think there should be more going on. Also ignore dr. clit because his opinion is good for nothing as he never has anything good to say.

Okay that's pretty much what I thought when I watched it. It's not bad but like you said as a standalone video it doesn't seem to be just enough. Something to accompany a live ae, I thought. (The flashes and shadows didn't particularly match with the music or did they...?)

Four walls of projected videos + lighting from the ceiling.

GAH.

Next time I set up at a gallery space this is getting done. I'd love to project it on four walls of a rather confined room. Let one person in at a time.
