i did - i searched the whole board for "pronounce" and couldn't come up with any threads to do with the topic.

i did come across some posts regarding pronunciations of individual tracks.

also thanks for the patronising welcome

i like to pronounce it oh-tesh-ra

french is more swanky if you will

Some good ones I've heard

awe-ter-cree

or-ker-teck-er

I pronounce it aw-tek-er like rob and sean, because I am a hopeless fanboy

i say "awTEKer" and when someone says "AWteker" I get confused. which is actually kind of cool

"Salut, je vais prendre le lapin au techerre et ma petite copine va prendre le jumeau d'affexe avec un coté des conseils canadiens."

My brother say "ow-tray-chay".

i had a snooty graphic design cocksucker come up to me at my girlfriends' and her roommates' get-together once, and in discussion he mentioned that i was pronouncing "aw-teck-er" wrong, and proceeded to clear his throat with his gutteral pronunciation. apparently you have to sound like a grizzled old russian man in correctly saying the name. what a fat shit he was. anybody who corrects you on the pronunciation of made up names is an absolute twat.

I have this friend who insists its pronounced Aww-Tech-Ray and she insists that they are from france completely upon word of mouth from her friend.

fuucking retarded is what it is. Whenever I say Aw-teck-er she gets all confused and corrects me. Like... hello!!!! out of me and you which of the two knows the entire ae discography front to back? Really? Me? Thats what I thought so shut the fuck up bitch!

AWEtecker... my tees in the mist of words almost go silent when i speak... beethoven sounds like bay-hoven when i say it!

i remember once SPD asked me to repeat it after i said it... i guess he never heard the way i say it. last summer i was talking with this dude from atlanta that likes them, and he tripped out on the way i said it too. i told him my "tees in the mist of words" thing!

I think it's obvious that the pronunciation of made-up words should be decided by the people who created said words. And, in the Interview from Radio Mix, Booth and Brown clearly say "orTEKer".

So there ya go.

it's actually kinda like the "fish/ghoti" trick.

fish can be spelled as ghoti. GH as in "Laugh", O as in "women", and TI as in "national"
