ok i won't lecture, i'll just see if it's even possible off the top of my head... i can't say it's my top albums, but these are definitely the most solid ones that spring to mind. there's so many albums for me that are say half amazing and half not-so amazing and it wouldn't feel right including them.

 

 

well, i didn't do it off the top of my head, actually it took me a while (it was a feature for a website, as well, so i had reason to do it). and our lists are understandably pretty similar, lol ... where is gas's 'pop,' though!?

I agree I find that album to be mostly shit yet have seen it close to the top on many end of decade lists.

Not really, some years are bound to be stronger than others. I think it would be unfair to compile a 100 best of decade list and restrict/force yourself to include 10 from each year.

right, i meant more that he wouldn't be opposed to seeing a top 10 list of each year in the 00s, so why be opposed to a top 100 list (i guess because of some sort of misplaced principle, but that's my point).

 

actually i think only 8 albums from 2008 and 2009 combined made it onto my top 100. and i had like 20 albums from 2001.
