this one is much better. maybe I should check out their first album if it's more like this, I only know their two famous singles.

MAYBE? definitely check out their first album, and make sure it's the promo version becaus the US version is missing tons of important samples that make a lot of the songs, imo...

holy shit i'd read of this version but never had a chance to listen to it until now

 

even the original is still impressive imo caze, it's a magun opus of plunderphonics and dense sampling, up there with golden age hip-hop classics, 2 many dj's mix "as heard on radio soulwax," negativeland, Double Dee and Steinski, etc. though in particular this one was a precursor to a lot of chillwave and beat scene stuff like panda bear, washed out, monster rally, etc.

that link is down, but found it elsewhere. the first track is already better than the single version (which I liked to begin with), so we're off to a good start.
