360 Fans, Is This Worth It?

I hear all sorts of praise about how good the 360 controller is (sans the awful d-pad), and how "superior" it is to Sony's PS3 controller. Well, looks like someone decided to capitalize on that market:

Sucks that it doesn't use Bluetooth and requires a dongle (ha) and it's 2.4Gzh, but it looks like a good compromise.

Personally, I never had an issue where the analogue sticks on the PS3 controller are placed...

Hehe - I was going to post something on this earlier.

The only downside to this pad is that the triggers aren't proper 360 triggers - otherwise, YES, something that actually makes me even more likely, someday, to get a PS3. It'll take a bit of time to get used to, but for MOST GAMES I think it really trumps the PS3 controller. This excludes fighters (but you already have the fighting stick for that).

Oh, my m8 got these little stick on triggers for the bottom triggers on his ps3 controller to extend them out a bit. If you added those to this controller you'd pretty much be getting the best of both worlds - plus, it's only 50 bucks, which is pretty awesome given that I'd expect this to cost way more.

Can you elaborate on this? I hate the PS3 triggers because the the further you push them down, the more force you have to apply. They also go down and are convexed so my fingers slip off too easily. Is this the case with these triggers as well? I want that smooth analogue feeling of the 360 controller with the same grip.

This looks very slick. A 360 controller with a fixed D-pad seems like the best controller I can imagine.

Ok, so, this pic shows what I'm talking about a little better:

Looks like they just kept the PS3 triggers as they are now. My friend got these:

Which you can buy here. Or probably at Best Buy or whatever - they aren't perfect by any means, but these + the rest give you about as close as you'll probably ever get to an actual 360 on PS3 controller.

why did they change the back triggers for the ps3 controller, the ps2 design still is the best controller imo.

yeah, I'm constantly accidentally hitting L2/R2 on the ps3 model

A game where the advantage to the extended back triggers is driving in gta 4, IMO. Pressure sensitivity was already there in the dualshock 2 but this gives you better precision. Throwing grenades and shit is annoying though.

Ive always hated the ps2 and ps3 thumbsticks, I would says 360 feeling thumbsticks would definitely be worth it

It seems I'm alone when I say I prefer the Playstation style controller to the Xbox one. Though I do prefer the Gamecube controller to everything. >_>

I love the Gamecube controller. Definitely my favorite as well. May even call for a new avatar.

I attribute my love to it being that it was from the first console I could ever call my "own" and not one I shared with a sibling and that I play a game in competition using the GameCube platform.

I'm totally biased, but I still love it. Best shoulder buttons ever.

Agree, playstation got it right the first time, that's why they never really changed them

and the gamecube controller is the most ergonomically sound

Is it because the 360 analogue stick tops are concave, rather than convex like the PS3 ones? I could see how having it that way may make it better.

I really like the 360 controller because I've got pretty big hands (MAN HANDS, YEAH!!!) so it fits me perfectly. Also, I don't like the positioning of the analogue sticks on the Ps3 controller.

but keyboards have non-incremental movement in FOUR directions. a joypad just cant compete with stuff like that.

i've hated the Sony controller since the PS1 days, it gave me incredible pain in my hands after a few hours. like it was designed for C3PO or someone else with right-angle knuckles.
