The stages, popularly known by the acronym DABDA, include:[2]

Denial — "I feel fine."; "This can't be happening, not to me."

Denial is usually only a temporary defense for the individual. This feeling is generally replaced with heightened awareness of possessions and individuals that will be left behind after death.

Anger — "Why me? It's not fair!"; "How can this happen to me?"; '"Who is to blame?"

Once in the second stage, the individual recognizes that denial cannot continue. Because of anger, the person is very difficult to care for due to misplaced feelings of rage and envy.

Bargaining — "I'll do anything for a few more years."; "I will give my life savings if..."

The third stage involves the hope that the individual can somehow postpone or delay death. Usually, the negotiation for an extended life is made with a higher power in exchange for a reformed lifestyle. Psychologically, the individual is saying, "I understand I will die, but if I could just do something to buy more time..."

Depression — "I'm so sad, why bother with anything?"; "I'm going to die... What's the point?"; "I miss my loved one, why go on?"

During the fourth stage, the dying person begins to understand the certainty of death. Because of this, the individual may become silent, refuse visitors and spend much of the time crying and grieving. This process allows the dying person to disconnect from things of love and affection. It is not recommended to attempt to cheer up an individual who is in this stage. It is an important time for grieving that must be processed.

Acceptance — "It's going to be okay."; "I can't fight it, I may as well prepare for it."

In this last stage, the individual begins to come to terms with her/his mortality or that of a loved one.

In other words: next up is stage 3: Bargaining

So I guess this is my cue to try to convince some people this comp is not as hilariously good as some want to tell you? Why? Because it just isn't. There are numerous good tracks, and the money going to a good cause is sexy as well. But that's just about it.

If anything, having listened to the 70+ tracks, at some points I was under the impression tracks sounded stereotypical and bland. IDM turning into satire. At some points, meaning at least half of the tracks. If IDM was like smoking, this comp would be the only available public smoking area at an airport where the most seasoned smoker would turn sick and stop smoking because it is just too much.

so maybe you should only listen to 10 tracks at a time? that way you can space it out all week without getting sick.

personally i've listened to it quite a few times just in the background while i was working.

everytime i've listened to it this way i hear something new/different, because i'm not always concerntrating on the music, but other times i am, like when i'm inbetween things or taking a break..

there's really nothing at all that's justified to complain about with this compiltaion. i dunno why you're even bothering to try.

what other types of music would you have prefered to be on there for your 7 pounds?

Having just completed the entire compilation in one sitting (that's right. I spent my friday night listening to this fine collective of songs) and I can happily safely confirm that I really like this compilation. It definitely does drag at around the 3-4 hour mark.. and there's a fair amount of experimental tracks that just do not click with me at all. But ! But ! There's more than enough AMAZING music on this album to warrant it as being an amazing compilation.

I may have to do some careful deleting. Maybe reduce it from a 6 hour compilation to an ipod friendly 4 hour compilation. Trim the fat. Lose the experimental noise.

Either way.

Compilation = good.

Icesea did VERY WELL.

Icesea delivered the goods. And i'm happy : )

I agree with goDel that a lot of the tracks sounded a bit cookie cutter IDM, all cut up and glitching it's boring now.

it's for charity! lol @ people complaining about "cookie cutter IDM", whatever that is, and saying it's boring.

maybe next time there's an earthquake and/or a huge tsunami icasea should just compile a 20 track thing and charge a tenner.

fucks sake. wankers.

So because it's charity the compilation is as bloody amazing as some of you dorks think it is? Look, I'm the first to admit this is one of the best compilations of the last 5 years, but that doesn't mean I have to be all :nyan: about it.

Grow some sense into you brain, sirch. Or I will violently teabag you.
