:wtf: Y IS THIS NOT BEING COMMENTED ON

I totally imagine this being your dream collaboration. :sup:

Nobody ever discusses interesting albums because the members here are still disturbingly IDM-oriented.

Not as disturbing as your avatar I can assure you. It's always been on the wrong side of spooky for me. Are you a member of a cult?

how so? vhs head seems to be one of the most anticipated artists on watmm this year, and it's hardly a herd mentality/hype machine/generally popular act

im speaking in generalities, of course there are exceptions to this. But it seems like every since the resurgence of dubstep watmm frequently echoes the marketing campaigns of labels like Mu, Hyperdub a little too frequently and too regularly. Maybe you can thank a handful of members who just literally repost press releases. besides VHS head, the artists that get watmm the most excited these days are Burial and Thom Yorke, and *gasp* even Eno. It's a little baffling to be honest

fair enough. couldn't give less of a fuck about any of those artists, but hype williams is at least pretty left-field for hyperdub. and come on, demdike stare is the tits!

I hate being a dick but I totally agree with Awepittance. Unless Burial does something actually interesting again leave his pseudo limited expensive artistic bullshit with Bono to P4K and related mainstream PR agencies.

that's exactly why troon is the most important member of this forum, if it wasn't for him there would be nothing to talk about here.

I totally agree. He knows what's up, really.

I'd love to see Troon go get us something from the actual underground and present it to watmm. Almost every time he creates a thread in the new releases it is something already very much hyped up on boomkat, resident advisor, or pitchfork.

If anything the biggest contribution to the new releases forum that he's made is making us all more lazy than before and assuming we're getting updates on all the good music, when in fact we are pretty much just being advertised to by the biggest entities who want our money.

Im not saying he's on the payroll for anybody, but there isnt much a difference

Damn. Honest Jon's being a UK-based label/distributor, I have this 12" added to my cart...and something like twenty opened tabs of other distributed albums to consider tacking on to make the insane shipping cost worth it.

edit: yep, a £6 record turned into a £66 order. Goddammit.

Do Demdike Stare even pause for breath? On top of this and the Elemental stuff, there's also a Slant Azymuth album in the offing. I'm usually chuffed when my fave artists go into hyper-prolific overdrive, but just now there are too many releases which is getting a bit costly (even for me, and I'm in the UK).
