If he had wanted more backstory about the Watchmen in their young days then he would have written it originally. Lucas Posted December 2, 2011 Share Posted December 2, 2011 To one side I'm actually more opened to the idea of a prequel because that means they could imagine something out of the Watchmen, make something new and original (because I think The Watchmen movie was irrelevant as it just copied the graphic novel, getting rid of all the charm of it). But I know they won't as it's just (surprise !) a matter of money. Fuck it. This is even more disgusting with the Watchmen because the comic book carried a strong and deep political view, and it's now turned into a commercial superficial juicy licence. Fuck Zack Snyder also. His last movie was one of the most shitty thing I never saw. Pure superficiality. No characters, no story.
