compliance - well, i didn't know it was based on a true story, lol, i guess i forgot it cause it is well stated at the beggining, so, i watched one of the most retarded scripts ever, guess what??? it really happened... lol

killing them softly - my main disapointment with this movie was that the main characters weren't at all likeable, or maybe it was just sloppy acting, or maybe incomprehensible/inexplicable behavior... the main story was not (imo) interesting, unless it had deep characters a la tarantino! which it didn't... :( i can't go higher than 7/10

taken 2 -

i liked the map bit and use of sound to locate the bad guys

lol

the impossible - nice thriller, some facepalms, gets you wondering more about if it actually happened that way or if it's just sensationalist... 5 or 6?/10

arbitrage - solid movie, nothing to see here, go on, next... 6,9/10

zero dark thirty - politics, war, terrorism, it's one of those movies where i can't really opine... visually it was not stimulating...

seven psychopaths - liked this one, don't over analyze it, nice acting here and there, it might look like a tarantino arc but it's not, i mean, don't compare it, or else you'll dislike it... 7/10

casino - bleh, godfather VII

the aviator - can't quite recall a lot but remember liking it and thinking about a strong 7 almost 8...

flight - this dude can act right, i hate him, but i guess he can act, loved the 20 thriller minutes but then it just went yadda yadda law suit whatsoever...

Yes. Absolutely yes. No idea why so many dumbasses like that movie. It's fucking shit. Scorsese by Numbers. Pesci has all the physicality and tough guy gravitas of an aging midget with down syndrome. zzzzzzzzz

...or 9 or 10. Underrated movie, easily one of Scorsese's best.

  • pulp fiction
  • jackie brown
  • inglorious basterds
  • django unchained

this one is tough, pulp fiction is kinda perfect, no boring times, at least for me... jackie brown is great but i got the impression that there were some holes in the plot, inglorious basterds has some of the best cinema scenes ever specially the ones featuring CW, and django, well, i guess it's not as elegant as the rest, if it wasn't for CW i really didn't knew what to make of it...

oh i forgot about Pescy, i liked him! :emotawesomepm9:

That's a good one.

I know before I said Death Proof is possibly my favorite tarantino. obviously that was exaggeration but I do feel its better than Django. Kurt Russell is perfect for stuntman mike and the dialogue while overtly QT works along side the B-movie/or Grindhouse aesthetic. Not to mention all the action sequences destroy anything in Django.

In regards to Casino and Pesci, I felt it had some beautiful camera movements/editing and Pesci is hilarious alongside De Niro. The story is fairly forgetful but what would you expect from something by Scorsese called "Casino?"

i really like death proof, really really, love kurt russell!!! i think it's one of those movies where you have nothing to complain about except maybe you don't find it a very interesting story or shallow or whatever, but damn, it's an action b-movie, someone who expects an action movie to be intelligent is fooling himself......

There Will Be Blood : 9.5/10 - I think Eli keeps this from being a 10/10. This film is so 2001 influenced. Fucking ridiculous but an awesome application of its imagery and themes.

Jackie Brown : 9/10 - Entertaining, enjoyable, funny, etc.

The Lincoln Lawyer : 5/10 Meh...

In the middle of Dogville and absolutely loving the acting and dialog/voice over work. Something great about this. Wish I would have thought of it first!

IMO, it is a near-perfect critique of America. Von Trier is very likely a giant douche bag, but that doesn't mean he lacks for talent, nor does it mean he doesn't understand what is so incredibly fucked about America(ns).

If you're in the middle of it get out this thread you maniac.

No shit! I've told him this many times. He lied to me the other day about watching Audition while in CHATMM.

To be fair, I did watch Dogville in two sittings, so maybe it'll work.

Then, I sent it to Snares and he said it was the best movie he's ever seen. :music:
