The last one reminds me of a scene from The Book of Eli, but I might be wrong about the movie origin. The first one is obvious tho.

Mad max, or the Road Warrior. not sure which one though. I think the Road Warrior

Gah, that artstyle, i want to hurt it. Poor kids being served up all this visual dross under the illusion that bad means easier to grasp and little talent means children's author.

Get this painting by the numbers away from me.

that would be funny of Book of Eli had a scene in it where Gary Oldman wore a hockey mask and said those exact lines, since it was a 95% copy of Mad Max Road Warrior from what little i could stand of it

Well, shit. My film classics naïveté is showing once again - I don't recall ever seeing the Mad Max films, yet I saw the apparent spinoff released three decades later. But now I know which movies to watch next.

At least I've seen Kubrick's most famous films.

I don't see how framing it in a children's picturebook adds anything, especially as the text quotes each film directly. It'd make more sense if there was an entire children's story illustrated by movie scenes that related to the narrative.

It's almost like an extrapolation of the stock photography/porn comments meme, but that at least served to highlight blah blah blah... Thanks for sharing anyway Joyrex!

That was just the art style of the Little Golden books - the artist merely used it as a visual connection (aka the whole point)

Yes, but it worked nicely to as a lead in and to furnish my moan now didn't it and this place is all about digression into complaing. Plus i've been looking for an excuse to post some arthur rackham art for a few months now.

Or sorry for mucking up your thread JR, heh. Take your pick.

Yeh, I'm not that impressed by this. Its just slightly cartoony. The violent/gore aspects are still in the image so its not like its been properly converted into a child friendly image. Just not that good. maybe I dont get it.

I had the same feeling. I would prefer if they kept the dialogue the same, but the image showed something else more child friendly.

Use some double entendres, mother fuckers.
