C'mon science, papa needs a new liver

They've had organ transplants for a long time?

That article was not about 3-D printing actual organs.

Holy shit, guys and gals

I am really fucking freaked out right now

Lately I had been having various issues:

-hungry all the time (especially 30 min after eating)

-stomach always being weird

-'crashing', weird spells of faintness and low energy/low motivation

-random headaches

-sweating for no reason (especially my hands)

...and really just a host of other little things like that

A couple days ago I decided to go on a little health kick

(You know, stop eating pizza and other garbage every day)

Just to try some various new foods

About 5ish hours into my health kick and I start feeling like I have the flu

like I was kicked in the gut

Just brutal

Having previously been a drug addict for quite some time

I was like "shit, this feels like withdrawal"

The timing was pretty obvious and everything

Recently my mom and my friend had both been talking about sugar and diabetes and all the associated health shit

So at that moment it all clicked:

I realized I was fucking pre-diabetic (!!!)

So I'm like "fuck this, I am done with sugar"

I have been eating healthy-ish for two days

And ALL THOSE SYMPTOMS I LISTED ABOVE WENT AWAY

Then I started wondering if this was all in my head

(You know, seeing patterns where there aren't any)

I consulted Google and it turns out:

http://www.cbsnews.com/news/half-of-us-adults-have-diabetes-or-high-risk-prediabetes/

Dont you have doctors in your country?

Yes

The thing is, though, that:

1) pre-diabetes is trivially easy to reverse, so going to a doctor would pretty much just be like "doctor, it hurts when I do THIS"

and he'd be all "then don't do it"

2) I used to see doctors as scientists

But then I had a series of encounters that convinced me that doctors were more like mechanics

So now I'm slow to visit doctors

But the scary thing about it all is that

If you're reading this right now

And you have a western diet (and if you smoke, drink or sit a lot)

Then you probably have (at least) pre-diabetes

/worst Jeff Foxworthy joke ever

i dont know what people expect, eat oreos get diabetes, its really that simple, there is enough information out there that anybody who is eating this shit (i include myself in this) knows the risks, same with smokers.

You are truly misled if you think diabetes is only a result of eating poorly.

The genetic factors are both numerous and highly important.

Did you know type 1 diabetes is triggered by environmental factors, even cold weather can trigger type 1 diabetes in someone genetically predisposed?

Cold weather isn't oreos you know.

Insulin response is a complex mechanism and food/exercise are not the only important factors.
