I dunno if this has been advertised here yet, but I recently switched from iTunes to Songbird and it was the best decision I've made in a while. There's a shitload of addons and skins, it functions as a browser, it can be integrated with last.fm and maybe spotify too, it fetches lyrics for you, it shows news/concerts/photos/stuff about the artist that's currently playing, when surfing the web it grabs audio files on the website and adds them to a playlist, compatible with many phones/iPods/Linux/Mac, and probably a bunch of other shit I can't think of. You all should try it out. My two friends, who previously used Windows Media Player and Winamp, are using it now.…

Who here is married? 1 2 3
by Guest Conor74- 51 replies

I've seen a few threads about wanton sex with sex crazed women here lately. I see the breakup thread has hit 10 pages. There must be a few married posters out there who really have nothing to contribute to such threads? So if you are married, you blissfully happy, just about tolerating it, or ready to head for the hills. Got real lucky myself, married a saint, but a lot of my friends really just barely tolerate their wives and would ride even women who I think are actually uglier than their wives.

...just to piss people off? I think I could add to the pleasure by saying I believe in God and the power of prayer, but I'm not sure that Richard Dawkins exists.

Directshow filter that supports ac3 in mp4?
by Guest Great Maker ShaiHulud- 2 replies
- 715 views
I have some mp4s that play fine in VLC, but I want to author a DVD using them... I can't get the audio (it's silent). I think it's because some monkey put 5.1 AC3 audio inside the mp4 instead of AAC... So I can either demux, reencode, and remux, or just use a directshow filter so the authoring app doesn't know the difference (hopefully). ??

I just updated to the new map and it's pretty tight. Seeing as though this is practically the only video game I have, I'd like to geek out with some of you guys/gals about it. Thoughts?

Hey i'm CyberAly, also known as CyberAlyMan on YouTube. I was asked to join this forum by one of my subscribers via a PM because I often post videos concerning electronic artists such as Autechre. If you wanna check that out, click here. Anyway yes, since, what was it? 2006? Yeah, since 2006 i've been into electronic music like some kinda crazy individual. It started with Boards of Canada which is of couse a good starting point for anyone, then I moved on to various other WARP artists such as Aphex Twin, Squarepusher, and of course my favourite artists ever, Autechre. I don't really know what kind of discussions go on here but i'm sure joining in will be moderatel…

HELP WATUMM! 1 2

I just got a wisdom tooth pulled out. I've got a splitting headache on the side of my head, my gums are tenderloin and my jaw is throbbing and i can barely move it. Needless to say, the Ibuprofen they gave me to take every six hours isn't doing shit. I need all your vast expertise on self-medication. I want to feel nothing - i don't want painkillers, i want pain-assassins, pain-obliterators and pain-maculators. What are my over-the-counter non-prescription options, my over-the-counter prescription options, and my under-the-counter options? Please refer to names of the active substances (i.e. Paracetamol) of the drug and not the commercial name of the drug (i.e. V…

The Uher 4000L report
by Guest Spittal- 5 replies
- 1.4k views
So, I recently picked up an old Uher4000L report at a thrift store for 25 dollars. The motor and everything is working but I have a few questions about the I/O. There are 3 ports on the side of the unit; (going from right to left) The mic input is a 5-pin DIN cable, which most of you will recognize as a standard MIDI connector. Now, I know about soldiering wires and such, but I need to know the pin configuration of this DIN connector before I do anything. XLR cables have a hot, a cold, and a groud... does the DIN input use the same method and if not what is it? The second is... well I don't know, it's an output I've never seen before can someone shed…

the default windows 7 multi-monitor setup is horizontal - i.e. drag a window off the left/right-hand side and it appears on the other monitor. does anyone know of a 3rd party app that would enable a vertical setup instead? i.e drag a window off the top of one display and make it appear at the bottom of the other.

I want to purchase a turn table from craigslist - LX1 (Sony) Vintage 1980's full metal body direct drive turntable for $100 Is this any good? Also, would I have to purchase additional equipment in order to make the turntable work? I'm not very knowledgeable about these things. Thanks for the help.
