Watching this on blu-ray this week, which looks and sounds fucking amazing, I'm struck by how well it's held up. The trademark Fincher visual style was in full swing, use of CG was innovative and original, and the Dust Brothers soundtrack was definitive in introducing electronic music into mainstream films (I'm talking 90s electronic, not the classic Vangelis, Tangerine Dream stuff from the 70s and 80s). What are your opinions on this film? Do you prefer the book? Looking back it was probably the definitive film of the 90s, at least for the youth based counter culture, and being in my 30s now, I find a lot of new things in it I can relate to I never saw before. Opini…

Fred is on the ballot this year

Now I know a lot of people would scoff at the idea of Fred being a first ballot hall of famer, but I'd appreciate it if the voters would include his body of work here at WATMM alongside his other stats. I wish I could dig up links to all the gifs, but the forum doesn't seem to go back very far.

Whats Fred McGriff Having for Dinner?
by Guest Drahken- 23 replies
- 1.6k views
One year ago Fred posted his amazing thanksgiving spread and it sparked a culinary fire deep in my belly that has cost me many hours and many fine ingredients to keep in check. I'm not ashamed to admit that the first thing I thought about this morning was not the mediocre spread I'm to eat with a raucous family of relatives, but what Fred the warrior poet would be masterfully preparing in his culinary laboratory. Hope you post some more pictures man, I need inspiration for Thanksgiving 2.0 this weekend.

I am after some teeth removal and now I can eat only mashed food or paste type of food. I am on this "diet" since monday but I have to continue with it for about a week and something or so because I have other teeth removal on wednesday. I am kinda bored of classic soups and boring tube cheese and I would like to have at least a good weekend. Can you recommend something great? First thing I am getting in the mall tonight is a lot of great salty soft cheese! That´s for sure...

Seems like a great idea.. each(or maybe every second or third) summer(winter) a place on Earth will be picked where we can meet up and have a great two-week or month long time! It can happen in Europe, Asia, America ..who knows where everywhere, there would be a cool program that would include collective music making, games (hide-and-seek in forest in the night, etc.), eating some great food, having a dance night,..or who knows what else... Anyone in? ...or maybe some other creative ideas ...

WATMM norsemen / metalheads

A damn good friend of mine died very recently. He was Icelandic, and was, like any good Norseman, quite into old norse / viking culture and all that. so I was pushing for him to have an inscription on his stone in old Norse runes or similar. Does anyone here know Icelandic / Faroese / old Norse well enough to come up with similar phrases to this one, or to confirm this one as being vaguely accurate? (obviously not in runes cos my keyboard doesnt have runes lol) "við rista rúnir að minningum hans" in archaic Icelandic, apparently means "we carved/rose runes that remember him" essentially based on "Runes to my Memory" by Amon Amarth

Racism is a problem facing society. Now cheating is one of the biggest problems facing football... I guess in a sport where someone like Eduardo dives and has his conduct examined and deemed acceptable by UEFA (or they couldn't prove that he intended to commit the technical offence of conning the ref or whatever, when the whole world simply saw cheating) what can you expect?
