  1. it's most likely another reissue or remaster... he is insane.
  2. yeah, its not bad but definitely not scratching the genghis tron itch. i appreciate when bands try to evolve naturally though. it's probably a grower.
  3. this guy is a major talent in the music biz. thanks for the heads up.
  4. Very interested in this but bummed to see so much Zoom footage. Can't wait to see it in imax surround sound.
  5. I've been on a roll with some good shit lately: Barb and Star Go to Vista Del Mar (7.5/10): I'm ready for more goofy escapist humour after such a clusterfuck of a year and a decade of gritty media. Dark Waters (8/10): A well-crafted drama (based on real events) without too much flashy bullshit or sentimentality. I found the story so shocking. How is this shit real? 12 Angry Men (9/10): Loved it, definitely worth the hype. My anxiety was definitely flaring up anytime someone got up from the table or shouted. I wonder how the William Friedkin remake is? Going Clear: Scientology and the Prison of Belief (7.5/10): I just read the book and really liked it so I thought this deserved a re-watch. Again, how is this shit real? Man on Wire (9/10): French tightrope walker who walked between the twin towers. A documentary that feels like a heist film. Everyone in this is very french. Have been meaning to see this one for years based on a few stills and glad I finally did. Brigsby Bear (7/10): A bit of feel good retro nostalgia (but more than that). I like how uncynical all the teens in this were, it was refreshing. American Movie (9/10): Mike is such an inspiring character. I can see myself rewatching this every few years. The 90s feel like 5000 years ago, in a way. Sound of Metal (8/10): Touching story with excellent sound design. Extra point for the Einsturzende Neubauten t-shirt.
  6. He's a master, in certain respects. He takes pre-existing material and collages it into a new form. The execution is usually so high quality that it elevates it. To me, the movies are pure entertainment without much deep meaning. There are parallels with daft punk in a way. I do have a feeling he's on a downward trajectory, though. His last few movies have some brilliant moments but could have definitely been edited down. You can hear in interviews how pleased he is with himself whenever he utters a sentence. Probably admires his turds before flushing them.
  7. Frances the Mute is a masterpiece. I wonder how new material would sound? I'm worried Cedric's voice is totally shot.
  8. Human After All is so underrated. A conceptual slab of punk minimalism.
  9. This album is out and it rips. Psychedelic and spacey. The co-founder of Skinny Puppy dipping into tangerine dream and sun ra territory at times.
  10. i like it but i wish the vocals were a little weirder or more distinctive?
  11. Finished the new The Stand miniseries. It did so many things wrong but it was still entertaining, despite it all?
  12. I was listening to an interview with Stephen Mallinder and he said that he was not asked about the new cabaret release, which is strange because they supposedly parted on good terms. A bit odd. I like that new track "Billion Dollar" but it doesn't feel very CV to me.
  13. This is really fun, 2 episodes in. Very relaxing. Wish it was longer and there was more painting, though.
  14. hmmm.... those vocals are going to take some getting used to. miss some of the overt electronic elements, but let's see...
  15. ooo cautiously optimistic. i listen to them every few years and forget how good they were.
  16. interesting, could be the first time they have made something sound less weird?
  17. awesome, he got jesse kanda, arca's go-to guy for visuals.
  18. love this group. they hit this weird hypnotic mood reminiscent of Coil. Snoopy is one of my faves to come out this year.
  19. Holy shit, this ruled so hard. Orson Welles parading around a foggy Paris like a chubby Zorro, looking phenomenal. Very unique editing style.
