So It is only one day after the release I know but I think you guys having some thoughts on what's the highlight tune here..

I got taken by track 2 then I start to enjoy track 3 mostly and later the Parallax mix but honestly Im back to the original Blackbox Liferecorder 21f (track 1) cus it Is so haunting and the drums are little bit crazy and I like that mellow melody that fits the vocals. It has surely grown on me alot!

So even if you like it or not? What's your favorite from this release?

Oh right! Yeah, it's a good one!

I voted for zin2 test5. I nearly went for in a room7 (fantastic I know) but there's something about zin2. I love it. I love them all, but zin2 test5 wins for me (just, for the moment at least).

Blackbox Life Recorder 20 Ambient 760 isn't part of this ep...

I can look into the future and it will be..

No but it maybe will come up in the official store or not.. "dRuQks Prepared uN 1" on Drukqs and "end e2" on Syro isn't a part of the albums either but got later added online.
I added it Because I think it is nice to not leave it out..

I honestly wish RDJ could do more of this. I enjoy the ambient ?

The EP has some Tuss flavour, which I like, but zin2 test5 has a darker Analord feel which I miss from afx

zin2 is still my favourite

tbf everything except in a room felt underwhelming? compared to how he usually treats arrangements.

Oh right. I find the the quality of the whole thing to be just as good from beginning to end.

Agree!

Spoiler

Heh

This morning, waking up with a slight hangover and blasting this through headphones, it's track 1 (in the more quiet mix — btw, shouldn't we have options for the different mixdowns in the poll? Hey, what's up with this half-assed nerd shit???), but it's a bit unfair coz it's had more time to grow on me than the others; by now it's become familiar and really clicked in a major way. I like 'em all though, and it's neat that they all have a totally different vibe. If I had to pick a least favorite, I guess it would have to be the Parallax mix; it just feels a bit too loose for me while all the others are supertight and target-oriented like heat-seeking missiles.

Also, for the record, I absolutely love his unabashed use of cowbells in recent years. Always makes me smile. Accordingly, I've dubbed this creative period of his the, ahem, "cowbell phase" and sincerely hope that the term will take on in the scientific community. Thank you for listening.

I know In a Room is flashier but zin2 just has that special something. The bass line is insanely catchy. He manages to cram so many moods into a track that is less than three minutes long. And man oh man, those pads and chord changes are beautifuuuuuuuuul. They hit me right in the feels. I love his 10+ minute epics just as much as anyone else but these short and sweet tracks are something special. I hope he does more of them. Showing restraint is the signature of a true master.
