the monolith track is really good, actually... very nice. but i'm still wondering about the groovy, p funk inflected dubstep tune. it's really fucking good. total modeselektor/parliament goodness.

Yeah that Monolith track is tops, whoever's behind it has some serious musical/production chops and I kind of prefer what I've heard of it to it's immediate influences. I'm still suspicious that it's some previously unheard of producer, the Steinvord thing was a more obvious viral plant but I can't help feel this is similar. Wisp and EOD have put out 100s of free and amazing releases before being 'noticed' by people beyond the message boards, even Syntheme/Goon/Whatever spammed loads of tracks to gain exposure, and all the Monolith hype's come from a couple of bare bones myspace pages. Maybe I missed something?

 

But I guess there's truth to the adage that when the music's that good it speaks for itself...

maybe RDJ and Grant will let Monolith 'become' the Tuss, i think hardly anybody except the die-hard aphex twin fanboys would know the difference! and i mean that as a compliment Monolith if you are reading :braindance:

 

yeah kind of like a coworker that takes care of the daily work while the boss is busy in the lab lol

that will be joker, he has done some wicked tunes and always has a really wicked unique funky groove to his music.

Same. It's not that I'm lazy, it's that some of the tracks are blended into each other in a way that makes it difficult to understand when one track ends and the next begins.
