In 3D nobody can see you scream.

CGI will fuck this up. mark my words.

I don't think you realize how much CGI there are in movies nowadays, stuff that you wouldn't even think was CGI. With that said, I do hope Scott goes with practical effects whenever possible as it always looks better, unless it's a guy in a rubber suit.

Currently having the aliens without an origin story gives them a feel of a cosmic force. I hope they keep some of the mystery instead of explaining them completely.

I thought this film was going to be about the space jockeys, but maybe I got my intel all mixed up.

I doubt a movie about the space jockeys could ever be made in hollywood I just don't envision it being possible to make that not epic sci fi weird bad ass unhollywood.

Yes, when the alien is partly invisible, but as soon as you see it in full it just looks like a guy in a rubber suit. They need to be much more alien in their physique, IMO.

The rest of the article in the independent mentioned the whole sequence of bad movies that Ridley Scott failed to talk about in his interview, so it was quite well balanced on the whole (as you would expect from the independent).

This could be really great.

This years Predators was men in rubber suits - and they looked great. The main of the (obvious) CGI came from the stupid pig things that were running about.

An alien prequel gives me major fap. :pedobear:

Giger has retired, I doubt he would pick up his airbrush for another Alien movie.

No shit? Didn't know that

He said he would never paint again, http://www.imaginefx.com/02287754331556908460/hr-giger.html

Maybe he could just supervision and ok the designs.

He also felt totally shafted for his work on the original Alien, so I doubt he'd bend over for Ridley again.

well this is fantastic news. i'll be at the theater for these the night they come out!

alien is one of the few truly great science fiction films.

aliens is awesome too but in a different way.

i'll wait for a trailer to come out before i form any expectations on this.

question:

i've avoided all the alien vs. predator movies, that's fine. but alien resurrection and alien3... are those any good? i've only ever read negative things about them, but something tells me they could be fun to watch.

they're not the worst films ever but you're better off not having seen them. They're mediocre, resurrection is just some sort of freaky black comedy.
