I thought we already had this thread but uh

Crazy Clown Time - I think me & Max might be the only people on WATMM that like this

Ladytron - haven't really seen much talk about this one. Probably too hipster

FaltyDL - just found this guy a little while back. Makes just the kind of analog synthwank dance music I dig

Tom Waits - fuckin Tom Waits man

http://rokjoma.bandcamp.com/album/we-got-it SOLID

http://transmuteo.bandcamp.com/ ALSO SOLID

http://coppicehalifax.bandcamp.com/album/pawleys-island SOLID BUT ONLY LISTENED 1 TIME CUZ I'M HOLDING OUT FOR CD

That Snares EP

Also I finally made the kind of album I wanted to hear when I was 7 but I can't include that without sounding like a wanker so Imma just make a vague reference to it in tiny text

crazy clown time is a runner up on my list because i gave it a 9 because conceptually its totally awesome and i loved figuring out the meaning of what it truly is the same way as watching 1 of his movies but still as a musical peice i just dont think it belongs on the MEGA list of this year however it is a great album.

I guess King of Limbs even if i'm not crazy about it

I actually can't decide if Pablo Honey is better.

This one the other hand... EP makes 2011, but full album in early 2012. Yeyuh

I don't know about album of the year but single of the year had got to go to Freescha - Babies In Your Body.

+1000. Certainly release of the year for me, not been able to get it out of my head. Amazing record.

Edit: I made a top 10 instead. I haven't looked through Bleep's "best of" lists yet, so maybe I'll find some more good albums. Overall, I didn't care for the electronic scene, but James Kirby and The Fiery Furnaces siblings made some excellent albums. 2010 was way more eventful for me.

1. Matthew Friedberger - Old Regimes

2. Leyland Kirby - Eager to tear apart the stars

3. Eleanore Friedberger - Last Summer

4. Matthew Friedberger - Napoleonette

5. The Caretaker - An Empty Bliss Beyond this World

6. Leyland Kirby - Intrigue and Stuff (Vol. 1)

7. Locust Toybox - Noon

8. Battles - Gloss Drop (Ice cream is my favorite single of the year)

9. Clint Mansell - Black Swan Soundtrack

10. Matthew Friedberger - Meet me in Miramas

EP. Gonjasufi - The Ninth Inning

The year isn't over though, I know Matthew Friedberger and James Leyland Kirby still have more albums planned, although they may be released next year.

Good music happenings in 2011 were,

Fucked Up - David Comes to Life

Clams Casino - Instrumentals ( and the translucent blue vinyl was lush too)

Battles - Gloss Drop

All things Radiohead

Caving into Rustie

Burial/Massive Attack 12"

The Watmm Download Bay

Seeing Fucked Up and Elbow live at Reading festival

Leaving Reading festival before Muse played (whining rat!)

Andy Stott - Double eps

Discovering Byetone

The Fear Ratio remixed by Plaid 12"

Lego Feet

Worst thing?

Flying Lotus at the Roundhouse. It was so bad I don't think I will be playing his stuff for a long time, I can't face it.

A pretty substantial amount of the new electronic music I heard this year (particularly non-album tracks) came from EKT & Soundcloud. Sometimes it was just okay, sometimes it was pretty bad, but for the most part I'd say I found a lot of good stuff, with an occasional "wow this guy should be getting paid to do music for pants commercials" find.
