I think Steinvord is a masterpiece

Most people do think it is related to RDJ. I don't think they are wrong. Whoever it is, it can't be just some person who released several great tracks out of nowhere, then disappeared. That is not logical.

The mystery behind Steinvord is amazing. I hope to never know who actually produced it.

You raise some very good point there man, especially the latter... some things are best left untouched imo.

I heard this EP for the first time a couple weeks ago, and it's certainly the most Aphexy sounding thing I've heard that isn't necessarily Aphex Twin. So i wouldn't be at all surprised if it were RDJ. if not, it's disappointing that someone with skills like that would use them to emulate another artist so blatantly... but entirely plausible. It's just weird that RDJ would sign someone who's aping his style like that.

Except some of the tracks sound nothing like Richard's style. Cyg x-1 sounds like no one else.

Now anything with fast beats that include acid basslines is going to be compared with Richard as he (allegedly) came up with it first. Remember when everyone assumed these unreleased acid tracks in Rome 2002 were unreleased AFX, but then it turns out it was unreleased Squarepusher? there goes your theories.

To sum it up: Whoever does it can come up with great tracks so you would have to be braindead to not sign up the guy. Too bad Rephlex is so slow putting out releases.

I can't believe there is another thread rehashing the same thing.

And pissflaps cyg x-1 sounds like SP, it does sound like "someone else". Identical in fact, because it is SP.

Rephlex should release a braindance Cluedo, where you gotta find out who made the record based on different hints.

"Found a 303 in the bathroom... must be Vibert"
