It works great on the phone, but on a desktop? It's a horror film! It's horrible. And now it's even more horrible with that horrible Future Brown video. God, everything's wrong with that site. HORRIBLE! Keep the Aphex coming, though.

HORRIBLE

Holy shit, what an awful website layout... they should go back to the old site that one was badass

that old menu was really cool. Must have taken forever to program all the small little animations:

warped1.png

Trying to remember what colour was what.... I think it was:

Purple - Various/Compilation
Dark Gray - One off artists not getting a colour
Silver - Autechre
Dark Blue - LFO
Yellow - Aphex Twin
Orange - Nightmare On Wax (maybe)
Light Blue - Boards of Canada
Red - Red Snapper ?
Pink - Plaid ?

That's as much as I can recall.
Autechre was gray and Squarepusher was turquoise...

Man, I really want to make a WARP.net theme for the forum now with that colour scheme!

I think Chris Clark was light purple

Pretty sure Boards of Canada was that light greenish color

BOC was the light blue (first column in the Album section, fourth row). Nightmares of Wax was the orange, (Chris) Clark was mauve...

We could pay a professional IPB skin designer to do a WARP Classic™ theme for the board...

Yeah I personally loved this too

Maybe WARPS new approach is looking at all the dayglo throw back badness of current popular urban music

mixed with youtube sensations and this is their way of trying to keep current ?

Make websites that look like they were designed by me

and promote records with youtubers that fit the profile of a innocent modern kids youtube page

but subvert it with sneaking the warp in

Like what Lester Bowie said about comments on Louis Atmstrong that he was "toming"

The true revolutionary is not waving the gun in the street screaming revolution

but slipping the poison in your coffee while your smiling at hello dolly

At the end of the day warp puts out great music and the mass audience of music

has all quality music forced to pull stunts to stay a float so I cant judge

but its nice to see here that we the community seem to agree that we don't need tricks

the music is quality and we respect it

but perhaps the expansion of the music needs it

it just reminds me so much of the book Hard Bop

or As Serious As Your Life

the message is the same

there always has to be an underground

an underdog

and a music that is beneath the underdog

Do you have any idea of how much that would cost ? I'm sure you could find enough people interested in that kind of theme here to do some sort of WATMM-crowfunding !

Not offhand - I do know the guy who made the themes WATMM has used recently (Tomorrow's Harvest, SYRO) does custom themes... I can get a quote from him.

What I really need to do is get more screengrabs of the old WARP site, so I can get hex colour values, and establish some sort of visual continuity to give him - I also have to weigh the cost against waiting until IPB 4.0 comes out (and if it's worth upgrading to it), and having the skin done for 4.0 rather than the current site version.

Any additional help on these fronts is appreciated!
