Both sides. yes, it is. it is worse if you hold all the cards, enjoy the staunch support of world powers, pretend you're an enlightened democracy... and then go on to employ the same dehumanising tactics that were used on you not too long ago. anyone who kills an innocent person is morally responsible for that action, but there is no equivalence between the two sides. Hamas terror is a product of US/Israeli policy, or the failure thereof. 4

Both sides. the IDF song "annihilate everyone" is like a tim & eric thing. kids always get coopted for shit. but really.. as for "both sides" i mean.. i can see the comparison.. but training handfuls of kids to be the next gen militants vs playing propaganda kid singing genocide song for the whole country to get people inspired to bomb children in hospitals.. idk. maybe not quite the same thing? but yeah.. it sucks for the kids i guess. sucks for everyone really. a shame there's no high road left to take and the extremists are determining the future. maybe at the next peace summit the new guy from argentina can be there to broker a deal. Nebraska
Alon Ben David, a Senior defence correspondent for Israeli Channel 13 described the conditions of the captives recently released by Hamas saying the hostages were treated well by Hamas and they were not subjected to torture or ill-treatment. Ben David said Hamas also attempted to provide the hostages with medication and food daily. 1

decibal cooper
https://www.aljazeera.com/news/2023/12/8/palestinian-people-mourn-the-death-of-refaat-alareer Quote Palestinians mourn poet Refaat Alareer killed in Israeli air strike The renowned poet and academic was considered ‘the voice of Gaza’. When the "Hamas babies in ovens" story came out, this man made a satirical post on X asking if they were cooked "with or without baking soda" (which imo is pretty premium satire). Bari Weiss made a big stink about it. This seems like IDF and Mossad are monitoring social media and putting names on kill lists based on this info *edit, on second thought, I doubt that either of those first two entities I mention in this sentence need to rely on social media to discern and choose targets, that was kinda a dumb thing to say* Spoiler and then using You S A manufactured b o m b s to knock names off the list There are different articles about this from more reputable sources than social media, such as this bbc one, but most of the info that I have seen about it has been from X, which I guess is best taken with a grain of salt. But I did see someone say that in his last days, Alareer was in a "safe zone" or "refuge area" or whatever other euphemisms the news is using, and that he received word from IDF that they were coming for him specifically to kill him, and so he left that area to not put others in danger, and he was killed at his sisters home, which was bombed. Cannot verify any of this information but it is circulating on social media. ignatius
for context this is what happened in 1948 before Zionists executed palestinians in villages..the nakba. they took them out of the village and made them dig holes then shot them and let them fall into the holes. so, this particular type of behavior is a form of psychological torture because they all know what happened then and what it means to taunt and humiliate people like this. also, ironically, it's what the nazis did to countless jews in ww2. good times on planet earth. wtf. humanity rules! https://www.thesun.co.uk/news/24982154/hamas-terror-suspects-stripped-blindfolded-surrendering-idf/ 1

This just in: Rich guy gives wife art gallery to play with, spends years making money off of famous artists, throws hissy fit when art points out inconvenient truths; gallery owner takes ball and goes home. Too obvious even. So in my poor-mans attempt to try to understand why the US voted against, I read the reuters article. yeah, I kid you not. and this is what my open and naive worldview took away from this little mental exercise : first the obvious: US voted against because Israel opposes. Duh. Then the somewhat less obvious question: why is israel against? Reading reuters: because Hamas isn’t addressed properly. Obviously, without any detailed knowledge I can’t make any meaningful judgement about such a claim. But, if I take it at face value - meaning Israel is completely upfront and open - I could understand that Israel would consider Hamas a key point that needs to be addressed. From their perspective. ( yeah mental exercise) Because without, there wouldn’t be a meaningful ceasefire. Or so they would argue, i would assume. And the US? Well, I guess their opposition could mean there is some validity to Israels objections. Or they think so. Does it matter that most other nations did support it? Yes and no. Why no? Because it would have been obvious US would veto, I assume. So at that point the vote had become political symbolism. Meaning: a vote to show broad support for a ceasefire. Any ceasefire. Regardless of the conditions. Even if those conditions weren’t good. My conclusion: there’s a good reason I try to keep myself from taking part in discussions such as these. It makes me feel and look stupid. But more importantly, to me looks like a giant “moral outrage” porn gangbang. And I feel dirty and dumb by posting this. It’s an important issue. I hope it gets resolved soon. Hopefully others have more interesting things to say. Ill gladly take the hit if it is at my expense

Ill gladly take the hit if it is at my expense israel created hamas. stop genociding the palestinians and let them live their life in peace and there is no more need for hamas, and the civilian support needed to keep them going dissipates. so even if israel considers hamas a legitimate threat and seemingly needs to "address" them, their concerns and considerations are worthless and they 100% deserve to be tried for war crimes and imprisoned for crimes against humanity and genocide, FUCK israel and their words and explanations are worthless, there is no justification, no explanation, possible
