This sounds much faster, no ? I guess I like it, but we'll need more than a sample to be able to say anything of course.

It always takes me about a year or two to 'get' the latest Swans release. With that disclaimer, I am not sure why they would pick this particular segment to get people excited...

The way Swans just kept one-upping their previous albums from My Father < The Seer < To Be Kind makes me very curious for this one. Last time I saw them live I recall a fast track like the sample, pretty sure it was unreleased... It was insane.

this (teaser) song is bring the sun/black eyed man on the live album The Gate. absolutely massive

Yep it's quite different to To Be Kind and The Seer. More introspective, takes the droning up a notch, less screaming by Gira? Need. Few more listens for it to sink in really, but there are some great tracks on here.

Frankie M is stuck in my head.

3X baby, once in a public square in Toronto, next to advertisements for Pixar movies, while he sang about tearing the buildings down.

I strongly recommend seeing them at least once - in one concert your feelings could range from boredom to elation.

Had my first listen yesterday, it turned out to be exactly the album I hoped it was going to be, captured the vibe of the live gigs I've seen throughout the years perfectly (2x Swans and one time Gira solo acoustic). IMO a great album to end this formation on, wouldn't want anymore after these three monoliths but I am really curious what form they will take on next.

It also made me buy a ticket for their last gig in October :)

Anyone seen them live?

Yeah, right after To Be Kind came out. Everyone got their money's worth. Gnarly. Two swans up.
