Ilasas. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hr_QCFRDlc0 Don't listen to this track enough due to it being tucked away on the "We Are Reasonable People" compilation. Would be nice to see what Plaid tracks other folk are listening to on the board.

I'm pretty ignorant of music theory in general, but I'm often struck by how distinct plaid's melodies sound. I figure that a lot of it has to do with the unconventional chord progression which does all sorts of cliffhanger and sour resolution work, but I feel like just their choice of notes in general is very indicative of their style. A couple tracks that particularly embody this sound: Zeal Thank At last Unbank Hawkmoth Los Dancers Modenet Is there a more specific way to describe their melodic tendencies in terms of music theory?

As you can probably tell, Plaid is my favorite IDM act currently in a genre filled with many amazing musicians. I've been obsessed with their music since last December, and I think I know how I feel about all of their albums to rank them from best to worst. All of my ratings for their discography are all pretty positive so even my least favorite record is still cool. I'm going to include the compilations I heard (Trainer) and their film soundtracks. Feel free to do it however you please, it doesn't have to be all their albums. You can also do EPs by themselves or include them with the albums. ? Alright, here's my ratings for the LPs!: Rest Proof Clockwork: I've…

So I recently acquired a promo CD for Deee-Lite's 96 remix comp, Sampladelic Relics, and it contains a few remixes that are apparently unreleased. Included on it is a Plaid remix of Try Me On... I'm Very You. It seems to have been released on promo vinyl and as a Japanese bonus track, but that's it. Does anyone know anything else about this track?

This song is Plaid's longest, but also one of their greatest songs ever. I know I love all Plaid songs, but this song is definitely top 5 for me. Some of their prettiest sounds ever and the progression is fantastic. It makes me miss Spokes and Greedy Baby era, some of their greatest work yet. Essential IDM track.
