Basically, here is the Immortal Jellyfish platform. Jellyfish are awesome. They are awesome from a philosophical standpoint (they are so minimal, yet still living creatures. Are we nothing more than more complicated jellyfish? hmmm?) They are awesome from an artistic standpoint (just look at any picture of jellyfish. They are god damned beautiful) For example: They are totally badass (the little blobs of jelly can sting really bad. Furthermore, you can take the pain away from a jellyfish sting by peeing on the wounded area. Peeing on wounds is IDM, guys) Now add to the awesomeness of jellyfish the awesomeness of IMMORTALITY HAVING EVOLVED! …

Ladies and gentlemen! At long last we find ourselves at the championship match to determine 2010's most IDM thing! From the West we have immortal jellyfish, who have thus far proven their namesake with relative ease in all stages of the tournament. From the East we have the Large Hadron Collider, an equally as dominating force that has literally smashed its opponents to smithereens to get to this final matchup. Two #2 seeds meet up in a championship for the ages. To whom will 2009 champion Antarctica pass the torch? Let's find out now! Here is how the bracket has unfolded thus far: http://www.bracketmaker.com/tmenu.cfm?tid=356845

spike jonze's awesome hipster robot movie 1 2

spike jonze and absolut vodka have created a 30 minute short film that was in sundance and a bunch of other film festivals, but now it's just been released online. you are supposed to watch it at http://www.imheremovie.com/ in order to take part in the 'virtual movie experience' where you have to 'wait in line' for the movie to begin, and it's only shown to 5000 people a day. or you can just watch it on youtube: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_TQuzRCbpsY http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tM44EMVeSuk http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kaGMexFUcds after watching it twice, i noticed a lot more things the second time around. there's more going on with the story th…

So I'm moving to San Antonio, TX in 2 weeks (lol). Work just told me today, they're like "hope you can be ready!". So i'm a bit panicked right now trying to get life in order for cross country move. Actually this will be my first time ever living out of NC, and I am a bit frightened by that. Anyhow, I know all about the coolness of Austin, and plan to go there often seeing how it's only an hour and a half away. I may actually make it in time for SXSW, which would be cool. Basically, tell me cool things to do in Texas. Specifically on the weekends, but during the week is fine too. I don't drink so I'm not really interested in bars unless they have electronic acts …

So, everyone turns off their lights. But, guess what? Power plants generate electricity based upon trends over periods of time. Power plants don't turn on and off with a switch. It takes days to dial down production, weeks to turn them off and weeks to turn them back on. You turn off your lights, but the power for that is still being generated. Your power plant produces it, you don't use it and then it gets passed onto another grid and your plant doesn't get money for it and eventually has to raise your rates because it's losing money. Now, it passes onto another grid, which is producing based on its own trends in demand and people there are turning off their…

I will be visiting Dublin, Paris and some city in the south of Italy, to be determined. The idea is that me and my buddy, Dave, who I'm travelling with, would spend 5 days in each country. I got him into Ae relatively recently but regardless, I'm sure we all like other music too. Not sure of the exact dates yet, but it would be fun to meet a WATMMer. Who knows, maybe the new BoC will come out while we are visiting your country and we can all enjoy it together!

Dream audio
by Guest joshier- 11 replies

I'm curious as to whether there are audio CDs out there that, once you have them play at whatever time you specify (in time with your natural REM sleep cycle), that they manipulate your dreams thus being able to choose what dream you have. Perhaps the sound of a women orgasming for the guys and for the girls, an audio recording of a sewing machine. Or perhaps dog samples or pub/club environments.

Jonathan Gourlay is a blogger who posts to the excellent bloggy thing the bygone bureau about life on the small island of Pohnpei. this extract instantly reminded me of watmm. I have no explanation for this behavior or why it’s funny. Neither does anyone else, really. It just happened. “Budget!” took hold for a few months and then disappeared. It might have had something to do with prostitution or something to do with the woefully inept government of the neighboring island of Chuuk, where the “budget” game was said to have originated. Logic, reason, science: all of these gifts of the Enlightenment carry little weight with Fingerlynn. Oral sex came from mehnwai (…

okay i'm looking for a game i haven't actually played, so i can't tell you much about the gameplay. it was for PC, and i think it was kind of "technologically advanced" for the time, around 1995. An adventure game in isometric orthogonal perspective, with the background/characters being CGI renders… you were playing some dude with an egg shaped head, looked very similar to a Lemming (a game lemming). mmmh

Tonight, I went for a walk down to Williamsburg (the hipster epicenter of the universe and traditional Hasidic stronghold of America) and saw an ambulance next to a car with three teenage girls (from what I could tell, they WERE NOT Hasidic) stopped in the middle of the intersection. The ambulance was one of the Hasidic volunteer ambulances. I had seen them driving around before but never saw one in action before tonight. I guess someone was in the back but I couldn't tell what happened. It didn't look like there was an accident but there were a bunch of onlookers. I couple of Hasids were wearing reflective vests and directing traffic. Pretty soon, a second volunteer am…

I've been challenged to a wager. Today will see four teams from the NCAA Elite 8 go against each other for a seat in the NCAA Final Four: (6)TENNESSEE vs. (5)MICHIGAN STATE (3)BAYLOR vs. (1)DUKE I don't really know much about basketball and the attributed teams, so i was wondering who i should put my money on. Any suggestions?

We're down to the final four lady and gentlemen! All of the semifinalists cruised through the quarterfinals with ease, presumably saving their A-games for these two stunning matchups. In the west we have sleep deprivation vs immortal jellyfish, two strong teams with equally restless attacks. Immortal jellyfish have largely been untested throughout this entire tournament, so it will be interesting to see if they will need to wake up against a team in sleep dep that is hot coming off of a big W against Carl Sagan. In the east we have perennial heavyweight Large Hadron Collider vs newcomer factories at night, two industrial-strength forces with equal chance to take th…
