  1. I've got a few of them small plastic boxes from the first or second edition, and I'd completely forgotten about Car Wars when the 6th edition dropped, so I just had to spend some to stroll down memory lane. Oh, and that's only the board games - to date I've backed over 90 projects, mostly board games, RPGs, and comics/graphic novels - but also plenty of gadgets, accessories and EDC tools/thingamajigs. It's addictive. Paranoia's been my favourite RPG since my teens (the 2nd edition was released in 1984, I think I got into it a couple of years later when I was 12 or so) - but I've funded the most recent edition and the subsequent additions.
  2. I've been funding some board games on Kickstarter, here's some I've already got: Space Invaders Unsettled Fate of the Elder Gods Vindication Zero Gravity Alone In progress/waiting to receive: Tiny Turbo Cars Human Punishment Car Wars 6th Edition I'm also a Battletech and RPG geek - my favourite RPG is Paranoia.
  3. Could you give me recommendations on where to start with Grouper? A new one for me.

    Dune

  5. I had some expected intramuscular pain from the needle the first time, this second one doesn't seem to differ. I've never had any adverse side-effects from any vaccinations, I've taken the flu shot every year as long as I can remember - including the ill-fated Pandemrix. My SO got a slight bout of fatigue from the second COVID jab, she slept for half a day and that was it. In Finland everyone is required to sit and wait at their point of vaccination for 15 minutes, nurses circulate among those waiting to ensure everyone's OK and EMTs are present to handle possible crises. Everything's going smoothly, Finland has 65 % first dose, 31,4 % fully vaccinated. Things are looking good, although the infections are on the rise - but concentrating on under-30s who haven't been vaccinated yet. Here's an excellent digest of the current situation.
  6. Achievement unlocked - fully COVID-19 vaccinated (w/ Pfizer-Biontech).
  7. An Oxford Comma would make this a bit less weird, unless you're actually offering to teach how to shave women.
  8. What. The. Actual. F. What a senseless waste of human life.

  11. Because people love to feel superior by being dismissive towards things they don't (or have been told not to) like.
  12. I've had Beyond Order: 12 More Rules For Life in my TBR pile for some time now; I hated the first 12 Rules book, so I expect the sentiment to continue with the second one, too. That's probably why I'm always skipping it when choosing a new book to read. I'll get to it eventually, but I'll hate every word of it with gusto. Why read something you know you'll hate? I prefer to try and understand why I dislike something instead of "just because" - it may seem like a waste of time, but it's my time to waste. Here's some of my views on the first one, lest someone claim I'm a closeted Peterson fan:
  13. All tʌntrə series releases one squid for 24 hours. 16 compilations, enough ambient to create a TAZ of liquid existence.

    Electro

Here's an electro mix I did for Gladio Operations' podcast series.
  15. I continued to pester Bleep/Warp/Ochre about the vinyl replacements for the glitches, and they replied mentioning only CDs and that the downloads have been fixed. I replied again to ask why they're telling me about replacement CDs when I'm explicitly asking about replacement vinyl - let's wait and see.
  16. Pretentious much? I love me some pretentious postmodern wordwankery, but that's just... wankery.

Yes, and read about the motivation, the sources, whys and wherefores of making the fan edit.
  18. Not techno, but. Dionysiac is one of my favourite Eat Static tracks.
