  1. Thank you for creating this thread because there's been something on my mind for a while and I wasn't active on the forums when the coronavirus became a topic or when subsequent mask conversations started so I just wasn't able to find anything. So here's what I've been wondering. A couple of months ago some company or companies were promoting masks with your face printed on them for faceID purposes. I don't have a FaceID phone, but my immediate reaction was "wow I want one with Aphex's goofy grin on it". I thought, someone or all of WATMM must have had the same thought. Yet haven't been able to find any mention of it or Photoshop of it. That's all I really want it just to see what that would look like. And the crazy thing is I'm perfectly able to Photoshop it myself, I just haven't bothered. I don't think I would actually wear such a mask. But it needs to exist. It's basically like this...
  2. It really is! Had my second listen today after getting it from Bandcamp.
  3. Picked up 11 albums so far, including 2 physical formats, for about $150. Maybe more later? ?
  4. Didn't Amoeba make a killing selling their current Hollywood location 5 years ago? Perhaps it was still mostly bank-owned and they didn't walk away with that much, who knows. I'm just dubious of this gofundme. Regarding Seattle shops, just read today that Bop Street in Ballard will be shuttering. It's sad when we lose any record store, but at the same time, the store is a mess and they're quite overpriced. I fear some others will end up having to downsize (again) when they're able to reopen.
  5. Wanted to wait fill Friday to buy it (Bandcamp special day) but really couldn't wait so I'm streaming it. Quality fun for my ears!
  6. I've known of Open Mike Eagle for a while but never bothered to check out his stuff. Couple weekends ago I was revisiting some Paul White (The Strange Dreams of Paul White and Rapping With Paul White are really good) and realized I never listened to anything past Shaker Notes (which was way different and not hip-hop but also good). So what was next? A collab with Open Mike Eagle, Hella Personal Film Festival. And it was an immediate hit! Great raps/singing and great beats from Paul White. I've played it 3-4 times in the last week or so, and have moved on to Mike's following album, Brick Body Kids Still Daydream which is also good but doesn't have as many standouts yet.
  7. Started watching Hunters (Amazon Prime) over the weekend. I like the plot but I'm not into the superhero element at all – seems like it's making light of the subject matter but also I'm just not very into superhero stuff. We've watched 3 so far, but it seems we have more complaints with each episode. Not sure how far we'll go.

  9. Great news! Just saw that on FB earlier. I love surprise drops!
  10. I was almost intrigued at the first mention of Too Hot to Handle, even though I hate reality shows, but the following posts have now officially turned me away from it. I'm not trying to watch reality shows, but my girlfriend likes this trash (including 90 Day Finance) so I thought maybe it would be one we could watch together. But nah. I just really hate the format and the people in these types of shows. It's all such bullshit and kills braincells.
  11. Excellent! I missed out last time due to other activities getting in the way. I've still make a couple of purchases since, but maybe I'll hold off till May 1st for my next order.
  12. I've got two 2x4 ones as shown, a 2x2 next to it (out of view), and another 2x2 in the living room for my record player and amp. Record player on top, amp sitting on the middle shelf with vertical divider removed, and some records below. I think they're all Kallax though, sorry to say.
  13. Working from home since the first week of March. I'm fortunate to be able to, that I have a dedicated room in the house to do so, and that I don't have any kids. I'm also fortunate that even though my girlfriend has lost her income for now (partner in a couple of local bars), we have enough space in the house that we can do our own thing and we're not fighting for desk space or conference call air time. One thing that sucks is I had left a job in December that involved me working from home a lot due to having such a small local team, and I was happy to be back in a collaborative office environment. Being on video calls constantly is a huge drag. But back to my first few points, lucky to have my job and the space at home. Here's my dog Otis standing awkwardly after I tried to get him to pose for the picture.
  14. I haven't visited this thread since December, apparently. Since then, I've re-watched the entirety of The Sopranos, caught up on the latest season of Curb Your Enthusiasm, started re-watching Seinfeld and King of the Hill from the start (I had only ever watched a small amount of KotH back in the day), started the High Fidelity series but have been going through it slowly because we're a bit meh on it, binged Tiger King like everyone else, and got my girlfriend to watch Ozark seasons 1-2 so we could watch 3 together (and we're just a few eps in so far). Oh and last night we watched the first episode of the new season of Insecure. On my own, I started watching Reprisal on a trip to and from Belgium in January. Been going through that a bit slowly because I'm watching it alone and just don't have the opportunity to watch TV on my own very often. I also finished season one of Castle Rock on the same trip, but haven't jumped on season 2 yet for the above reason. I also would love to catch up on Better Call Saul and Mr. Robot but again, there's no time. Maybe my girlfriend will take a vacation without me at some point. Thanks for reading.
  15. I've only listened to it for the first time today and I see that you have revised your opinion, –BUT– isn't that basically most IDM at this point? That said, a few tracks in the first half caught my attention in good ways but the track "The Final Version" made me think of your comment as it seemed like run-of-the-mill IDM.
  16. I like this album, and have played it 3 times already which is a lot for the 3 days it's been out. I think that's because it's short and that my girlfriend also likes him so it's an easy go-to around the house. It's unfortunate though that I find the lead track to be the best. Gonna take more listens and maybe I'll have a different favorite at some point, but that's how it stands right now.
  17. Oh jeezus. Haven't kept up with Colundi but I guess I'll at least check out the first in this series. Revisited his first 3 LPs recently and still nothing has topped those.
  18. I agree with all of this — I think they along with Aphex Twin set me on a track to discover more electronic music. And yes the remix EPs from those two albums were insane and stand up on their own. When Beaucoup Fish came out, I was definitely disappointed as it already felt more flat than the previous two. I enjoyed Everything, Everything to some degree but for me it didn’t add any value. I never saw them live. And well like you said, that was about it for them. I sampled various things they released after that but none of it ever appealed to me.
  19. Available now on Bandcamp, Spotify, iTunes, Deezer, etc. https://karstenpflum.bandcamp.com/album/normal-bias MAX MAXELL is a creative collaboration between Karsten Pflum and Michael Shiøler Tingsgård. NORMAL BIAS is an odd lesson in style and sketching. It is an aesthetic joint venture displaying a body of songs and drawings, built in an everyday mindset. The works are reflections of mundane input processing. Preparing gizmos and calibrating behaviour. Night after night, like therapy, looking through the stars, and dreaming about recurring places, animals and objects. A sedated dystopian cosmos - anno the Christmas of 2019. Michael Tingsgård is a Danish visual artist and cartoonist from Copenhagen. Karsten Pflum is a Danish electronic musician and producer, living in Berlin. All sound was recorded directly onto cassette tape, with no additional editing. 31 tracks (184 minutes of music) and a 55 page PDF file. All made between 2017 and 2019.
  20. Mine varies quite a bit from yours. I took a quick stab at it when I saw the thread title, prior to scanning yours. It's hard for me to to fully integrate the more recent albums with past ones as I've had less time with them - I just know that they haven't resonated with me as well as the classic albums did. And a lot of factors have gone into that. But unfortunately it just means they're all in the 2nd half of the list. Double Figure Rest Proof Clockwork Not for Threes Heaven’s Door OST Tekkonkinkreet OST Scintilli Spokes Reachy Prints Polymer The Digging Remedy
  21. American Horror Story: Apocalypse I haven't watched this in a few years, the last one I watched being Roanoke. My girlfriend has only watched one or two seasons while I had watched the first 6. Suggesting we jump in with season 7 (Cult), we decided to skip that one as we're already living that nightmare. Apocalypse seems good so far, we watched 2 eps last night.
