Pessimist rules, I really prefer whatever subgenre of dnb this is that you find on the likes of Ilian Tape and has that postindustrial flare to it to most other offshoots besides the drumfunk of folks like dgoHn* *Otherwise I'm still stuck on 90s jungle for the most part

The new EP from Distance, an excellent compilation of propa mid-2000s UK dubstep called Forgotten Demons. Distance himself is sometimes overlooked although his sound has proven very influential. Pretty cinematic stuff and, considering these tracks were produced in 2005/2006 some of it sounds an awful lot like contemporary dubstep productions of the past few years

Parmegiani was one of the greats... electroacoustic/musique concrete really doesn't get it's fair shake, also irl lol at Jeff Mills accidentally plagiarizing Bernard

Also, there's stuff that can be described as and I was hoping this would one day exist... IDM meets brostep... you might call it "a very contemporary take on flashcore"... Not a million miles off from Richard Devine but less obnoxious https://detund.bandcamp.com/album/libet-tones

You know, while I do still prefer the classic deep sound and related things, there are some interesting developments. These include the slightly more experimental 130 bpm sound one hears on labels like Manuka (loved this EP from Ternion Sound last year: https://manukarecords.bandcamp.com/album/exploration-ep) or this, and I've only heard a teeny bit so maybe it isn't that cool after all, the new "riddim" subgenre that uses sounds similar to "brostep", 150 bpm, though instead of being all about instant gratification and drops to the same extent, it's more about just grooving and doesn't change every half minute with the short attention span of Skrillex and the like, a bit like some of the half time dnb out there but also incorporating some trap in there too, very 2010s, not sure how well it has date for some tastes.

Mark Fell & Rian Treanor - Last exit to Chickenley
splesh replied to d-a-m-o's topic in New & Upcoming Releases
I don't remember a lot of it, they made at least one decent point but then hyperbolized. And Rian just seems to just echo his dad on whatever he says and not say much else lol -
Robo81 - Nice selection of techno and tech house from the 90s onward, even a few whole 12 inches and EPs https://www.youtube.com/channel/UClAVsyMyGJ5jh1u0EVUgVzA --- This thread makes me miss batALSDR (sic?)

Will have to dive in, the recentmost Frank Ocean albums are dear to me.

Mark Fell & Rian Treanor - Last exit to Chickenley
splesh replied to d-a-m-o's topic in New & Upcoming Releases
I'll listen but... idk, Rian's failed to reach even close to his father's heights for my tastes and that recent article in The Wire of the two of them saying written scores were the worst thing to ever happen to music... -
This first cut is sounding looooooooooooovely. I'm a real sucker for this sound, really on this tip lately, and think we're gonna hear a lot of this kind of thing when the warehouses open up again. Just *chef kiss* ? ?

PDP III - Huerco S & Lucy Railton - Pilled Up On A Couple Of Doves
splesh replied to fumi's topic in New & Upcoming Releases
I enjoy Huerco S, will need to take a little listen to this... wish I had some doves myself for the parties after COVID ? -
Entirely too much MPC note repeat / stutter edit nonsense on that Sunareht LP, methinks
-
Love the whole "Berite club" sound, but was kinda bit disappointed by Sunareht's recent first full length
-
Right, yeah. Thanks for the correction.

Lysergamides are certainly healthier than arylcyclohexylamines for whatever that's worth. About 2.8i and complex numbers, let me explain. A real number is something like 2.0 or 2.0001042 as opposed to a natural number which is just any positive whole number, i.e. 8. The square root of -1 is the smallest imaginary number, which is referred to as i . This number is also in general, the unit for imaginary numbers, so for instance the square root of -5 is referred to as 5i. Complex numbers take the form a + bi where a and b are nonzero real numbers, so 2.0 + 0.8 is 2.8, times i would give you 2.8i
