@ fish - what was that butthole surfers show like? i've heard some strange things about them live

I saw them in a large arena and I was far back from the stage so I didn't get a good look at everything that was going on

from what I remember it was pretty standard set with no theatrics, Pepper was the popular song then so everyone loved it

Poe and Beck were more memorable for me

oh yeah they played with Metallica when I saw them

I think Pigface was the best live performance I've seen

they had a contortionist, a knife swallower and a whore

any shows in particular you recall as being exceptional stage performance wise?

I think Pigface was the best live performance I've seen

then I saw them a dude hammered a nail into his face, some guy sewed his lips shut and they surfed an inflatable raft over the audience. They also played 2 versions of "Suck", one all tripped out with sitars and shit and one all rocked out like the NIN version.

-black moth super rainbow in Boston

-ulver in NYC (dj set/shadows release party)

-opeth in Buffalo once and Rochester twice

-medeski martin & wood w/ dj logic in Rochester

-deftones somewhere in western ny - everyone was pushing so hard for the front that the entire front half of the crowd fell down in the middle of the show

-shigeto in NYC

-TV on the radio in Syracuse and Buffalo

-Snoop Dogg in Syracuse

-Wu Tang in Philly

-a bunch of others that i probably got dragged to

Not many...

Tool (nov 96, New Orleans)

Aphex Twin - Big Top Festival (sept 97, Dallas,) went solely for Aphex, but saw 808 State and others as well

NIN and Perfect Circle (may 2000, New Orleans)

Autechre (mar or april 01, Austin)

Isis (mar 07, Baton Rouge) went initially for Jesu, who didn't make the show, but I liked Isis as well.

Nearly made it -

Pantera/Type O Negative (jan 95, Shreveport) cancelled by fire marshall, but we met Peter Steele at a country bar in Shreveport that night!

Marilyn Manson (apr 97, Dallas, i think?) was cancelled due to protests!
