Although this LP doesn't sound very much like Drexciya in general, Telemetric in particular might be the most Drexciya-esque track he has released since Stinson died (would be even more so without the vocals I guess). That and Remote Viewer are favorites so far for me.

i wasn't terribly moved by the track on their myspace. i kept waiting for it to do something... interesting.

is the album any better? what i heard sounded in the right direction, at least.

the myspace tracks are more minimal than most on the album, but they are in a similar vein obviously. shadow being is sort of a stripped down remix of remote viewer.

i imagine that you would enjoy this album if you enjoy quantum transposition and other gerald donald material from that era.

What I like about Drexciya and Dopplereffekt etc. is that great "machines speaking" sort of music. The Zwischenwelt album would have the same vibe without the vocals imo, it doesn't blend.

Other than that I like what I'm hearing though.

Not sure what to think of this yet, it is so minimal. I like a lot of the tracks but some are just too naked for me. The vocals are a bit over-dramatic as well. But I love the lyrics. I know this will grow on me.

yeah I am not deep into it yet but I can also confirm this. The synths used are pretty textured but the arrangement and the melodies themselves are a bit dull for my taste.

This one was forgotten pretty fast, which kinda indicates collective opinion about it.

Listened to it for the first time today, and while there's definitely some growing potential left, it's safe to say that this is a pretty disappointing release. While I'm not particularly obsessed with Rephlex, I was looking forward to their first physical release in a long time, so the discontent is even slightly bigger.

My main trouble is that the whole thing is so god damn simple. While simple things can quite often be very good, this is a typical case of "less is less". I get the whole mystical and spooky atmosphere, but it's done so unimaginative and dry here, and excessive use of vocals and samey glassy synths just deprave the whole ambience even further. Beats are pretty sterile, and what seems to be the finest track - Telemetric, while good on its own, completely spoils homogeneous mood established to that point.

I'd be really interested if someone more creative would seriously elaborate this "world in between" theme, because I see a great potential there. This one is a serious miss though.

I have to agree. Yeah, not really into the sterile sounding beats either, I was kind of hoping for some slightly overdriven 808 beats to be honest lol.

this album is wonderful. would love to have it in vinyl.

i like the vocals in this album. i don't think they're as cold as many people say. i think it gives warmth, and melancholy, it gives the human side to the album concept. it makes a pretty good balance to the dry and minimalistic sound. i also love zerkalo and black replica in wich the vocals have warmth. it's different, not in the side of plastiphilia or pornoactress.

for mi this is one of the best albums i've listened this year.

now my favorites are diapsiquia and remote viewer. clairvoyant and telemetric too *O*

Spot on.

This album was pretty much the breaking point for me in regard to Gerald's work, I found it so obtuse, humorless, contrived and plain monotonous, "oh we're so serious!!!! we're evil scientists, german, yes we're germans!!" There are some good ideas buried here and there but it's not enough, the synths are so dry and the compositions so dull that it just doesn't combine, good idea but awful execution.

well maybe you're right. but this is a collaboration. isn't just him doing the production.

i love more zerkalo than zwischenwelt i love viktoria lucas vocals and the lyrics. it perfectlyu matches the concept.

i read in facebook that new zerkalo stuff is comming:

Dear people,

you might have noticed the disappearing of the Zerkalo visuals from the 2007/2009 era.

This is due to our will to respect the decision of our ex collaborator.

We are happy to officially announce you that most of them are being replaced and that the new versions + suprises, will shortly be unveiled !

I am almost sure Susana Correia is Portuguese. Observing by the name and her accent during the interview. Can someone confirm?

She is, http://drexciyaresearchlab.blogspot.com/2009/03/susana-correiazwischenwelt-album.html

The accent like you said is a dead give away.

This is pretty nice, specially Juan Pablo's mix, Muller's is too formulaic.

When will the vinyl edition of this finally be released? Does anybody have a clue? I mailed Norman Records a month or two ago and they said it would take a few weeks/maybe a month.

I've pre-ordered this already six months ago with other vinyl that is still waiting with this, so I'd like to hear a release date!
