Hugh Mughnus
I'm trying to enjoy listening to Music for Airports, but my neighbor is blasting out Carry On My Wayward Son. Time to throw on some DJ Shitmat at full blast. hilarious. I thought I was the only one that does that when I want to annoy my neighbors. delet...
asked car servicing people to check air con unit back light because one of the bulbs was out probably needed replacing. Take car home and as it gets dark returning home from supermarket i find that it isn't fixed, probably the fuse that was the problem. Ring up the service department to complain because, i work at night so dash illumination is crucial, the tech could have at least checked to see if the fucking thing that he fixed worked or not. Incompetence is built in to our society at this point, anyone good is out competed by the liars and the bullies, they're out there but finding them in such a crowded marketplace is down to chance or word of mouth and in an area as nebulous to the customer as car service, how is one to judge the outcome and merit of anyone's labour? Even though these people are out there, their influence for the betterment of society is muted, they can't pass on their tradition to the apprentice of the double double double check. meh. This is how we ended up with no manufacturing, a society of carpet salesmen*, with no direction and tony abbot as prime minister. * my euphemism for just reselling overseas made goods. Also, i've had trouble with these people before doing stupid things through negligence or just plain laziness, so i'm not being hyper critical. I feel so fortunate to know a reputable garage, thanks to it being run by a long-known friend of the family. Getting an MOT or repair at short notice is a breeze, mates rates on parts (even though I tell him not to), boy do I count my blessings for having such a useful connection. It's funny because he's an old-school mechanic, although it's his business he still gets his hands dirty, and mostly takes the piss out of his young mechanics for relying on all the diagnostic tools rather than understanding how things actually work under the hood

That's how I found my mechanic. Also if you've had trouble with them before, why continue to reward them with your custom?
Audioblysk
Befriend a mechanic. One guy comes into my shop and we give him discounts on all his cannabis related products and in turn he does work for cost+whatever bud that doesn't cost me anything. He fixed something I got a quote of 675$ on for about 275$. Sorry to hear your car is eating shit man

delet...
Also if you've had trouble with them before, why continue to reward them with your custom? yeah you're right but there's only two peugeot dealers in this city and i'm one of those sad gits that like to get things done at the dealership through some perception that it'll mean my car's value degrades at a marginally slower rate. Of course if you count the extra it's probably costing me to go there on labour and parts i'm probably losing big time, but the whole moving to some little guy somewhere who might need my car over a couple of days while he gets something shipped in or whatever and he could still be a crook cause most of them seem to be, scares me. Next time i'll be taking it to the other dealership though, we'll see how they do a major service. @ audioB my car is ok, i like having a car and all things considered this one has served me very well so far, it's economical, comfortable, drives well and i think that it looks nice, others may not like the french thing. heh
Hugh Mughnus
fwp... I've been training for the last 4 weeks using a new system I've made up. I've put on 8lbs of muscle and lost about 1.5% body fat. That's all good. But I'm busting out of my clothes, especially my shirts. In another month I'm going to need a new wardrobe =/
Bechuga
I have the opposite problem Mr G: I've lost a couple of stone in the last year or so (16kg/32lbs?), and all my clothes are oversized now, especially the cool t-shirts/jackets I've built up over the years. Not that I was ever huge but I definitely had a few too many kilos on myself, but now I'm within the normal range for my height which is good, but still...I look like I've suffered a serious illness, which is also another problem... Why is it when you lose weight everyone assumes you have cancer? It is really that hard to fathom that perhaps I INTENDED to lose weight? Not to mention that the people saying it are often morbidly obese? Not even a 'Well done'? Honestly!

Not to mention that the people saying it are often morbidly obese? Not even a 'Well done'? Honestly! I think it depends on your starting point and people's perception of your physique to begin with... For example if someone is obese and they lose 40lbs then the immediate reaction is "good job". However if you're ripped like Arnie and lose 40lbs (noticeably muscle usually) then people might think you're sick... Know what I mean? =/

chenGOD
The second half of Jon Hopkins' album "Immunity" is intolerably good. Actually the whole album is great, but the second half which is mostly ambient piano is just damned beautiful. This will not stand!
