joshuatxuk
Nirvana were good, def a tad over appreciated though. I feel the Pumpkins' music was far more interesting, and as musicians they were leagues above on a technical level too. Corgan was more of a knob than Cobain though so swings n roundabouts I spose I was also a Pumpkins fan rather than Nirvana. Don't even ask what's going on with Billy Corgan right now though, he's going all David Ike... He's into rollercoasters too
may be rude
Melvins have not released anything good in more than 10 years tho? i was pleasantly surprised by the death side of the "a walk with love & death" album.

Enthusiast
The only Nirvana that has aged well is a couple of tracks off Bleach - but by no means all of it - ands the faster stuff on Nevermind. The rest is either metal lite or horribly self-indulgent guitar wankery. Melvins have not released anything good in more than 10 years tho? Basses Loaded was really good. And the Bride Screamed Murder was excellent. They release a lot of records, I like their sound still. beerwolf
Hmmm, this is self indulgent guitar wankery
Limo
Sorry, should have said “self-indulgent wankery with guitars”, meaning they do the wanking *with* guitars instead of *on* a guitar.

flim
Nirvana were good, def a tad over appreciated though. I feel the Pumpkins' music was far more interesting, and as musicians they were leagues above on a technical level too. Corgan was more of a knob than Cobain though so swings n roundabouts I spose I love them both, sometimes I don't know which I love more (probably SP). I do agree that the Pumpkins' music is more interesting than Nirvana's but that's just because they tried to do different styles and had more ideas, plus I think the fact that Nirvana's lifespan was so short, we never got to see a lot of experimentation that wasn't strictly rock-based. beerwolf
Funnily enough I played Siamese Dream in it's entirety this week for the first time in maybe a decade (probably more). I'm in the process of playing a lot of my old cd's and getting back into them (it's great!) This morning spun Joy Division - Substance, yesterday Psalm 69, Into The Pandemonium and Technique. I think I've finally reached the point in life that I'm not so bothered with obsessing over new music and need to reconnect with all those old albums lying dormant. Some of the old cd jewel cases look as they went through some savage Central African warzone lol. Raise The Old Records From The Crypt!! zero
what kind of BS is this: https://variety.com/2021/music/news/nirvana-baby-nevermind-lawsuit-1235048465/ and this d-bag is suing Chad? leave that guy alone ffs! Quote Curiously, original Nirvana drummer Chad Channing is also named as a defendant who was part of the group at the time, even though he had been replaced by Grohl in 1990, before the album was recorded or the cover photography shot. Uros
It's actually quite funny that no-one wouldn't have a slightest clue he was the baby in the photo unless he himself hadn't brought that up numerous times to get some media attention or whatever. Or was there many times that while walking on the street people continuously stopped him with "hey hey hey, you're that guy from that Nirvana album. Woah cool dude." IMO super lame excuse to ride (or at least try to) with some child porn aspect there, when it is clearly all about the $$$. Actually the cover with the afterwards added dollar bill he is also whining about portrays the guy just perfectly. 1
