this is so upsetting.

 

uli and strandbeest gonna get removed due to sheer ignorance on behalf of voters!!

 

We should possibly add more of a campaigning period next year.

 

Has smoking a pipe inside a space helmet ever won? Because it's IDM as fuck.

 

SPISH has never won. As far as my memory goes, the winners have been:

 

2007 Deep Sea Creatures

2008 Black Holes

2009 Antarctica

2010 The LHC

2011 Nikola Tesla

 

I might have messed up the earlier ones. There was a tribute to docking at some point, but I don't know if it was an IDM of the year tournament.

 

there was a protest SPISH album made one of those years because some of us weren't happy with the outcome.

 

And as far I can remember, deep sea creatures didn't win the first one. Beards did, but Fred and Alzado were all about deep sea creatures.

I saw the Afex Twins DJ a few years back, and they opened with a male vocal loop of swear words like "sh%t", "cV&t", "t3&T", it went on for a few minutes before a beat of a track kicked in.

can someone maybe explain SPISH to me? and how it's IDM? I'm interested because it *seems* to be entering steampunk territory when I think about the literal juxtaposition.

 

My interpretation is that because the smoker is exhaling while the space helmet is on he can't escape the smoke (as would normally be the case) which makes him hardcore and awesome since he is evidently enjoying it as well...
